I believe that TSN said that Bernier would be starting. If someone else who saw this could confirm?

Russia doesn't seem very cohesive and has done pretty poorly so far, so i'm expecting canada wins. Sorry Russia, no Datsyuk for you, he's too busy reinterpreting "Jaws"

My hope is that the leafs and Sens home slices will stop whining for once. Is that OK? Is is not obvious that over the last couple of years, win or lose, that the younger guys are being groomed to beat Russia on their home ice in 2014. This tournament is meant for preparation for 2014 to deny Russia a gold on home soil.

No one, i repeat, one one , can guess the outcome of this game.

the only thing i'm a bit worried about is goaltending. I think canada should be able to carry the play, but kovalchuk and ovechkin will show up for this one, so canada cant afford any weak goals against.

I think if Bernier gets a decent workload he'll be fine. Too many times in this tournament the Canadian goalies look weak because they've gone cold. If he gets like 5 shots in the first period and the score is close...then I would get worried

Right because clearly, Kovalchuk, Ovechkin and KHL superstar Zaripov have nothing on Nikolai Kulemin, the man, the hero, the legend.

Canada has the best line-up in the tournament and if we lose yes it will be embarrassing, regardless of whether or not you pretend like we don't care about the tournament.

Go Canada Go; nervous as hell, though. Not sure about starting Bernier over Reimer. I might go to with the bud, instead. I'm interested to see the match-ups for this game, with the lines being a bit unorthodox for both teams (Russians mainly, though). Hopefully the Canadian bench is alert. I'm covering my hands like a kid if I see Ovechkin and Methot on the ice at the same time, ROFL. Should be a great game nathless. Few better rivalries in hockey than Canadian/Russia! CAN-A-DA!
