You should know how highly I think of CdH, he's my 2nd favorite player behind Tavares now. I have high hopes for him and I think he's got the best shot at becoming our #1. I think CdH-Pulock will be our eventual #1PP unit though, with Hamonic-Reinhart being our #1PK.

If Pulock adjusts well to professional hockey and adjusts quickly, I think he has a good shot to be called up if we need PP help and that shot alone could be a big help now. Visnovsky's health status is going to be a concern next season and he's our #1PPQB. Another big hit and concussion, Pulock could be a very real option.

Heard Kelly MacCrimmon mention in an interview that Pulock's shot was clocked at 102 MPH at their skills contest this year which is crazy for a junior. He has an NHL ready bomb however I think he will need at least 1 or 2 full seasons in the AHL because there are still gaps in his game that he needs to smooth out but like I said I prefer his ceiling.

That would honestly be the best PP duo I could come up with, as far as our current personnel goes. de Haan's playmaking and vision combined with Pulock's bomb. de Haan is also good enough defensively, and a good enough skater to help prevent short-handed chances.

The future can't come soon enough for this team. Luckily it doesn't appear to be too far away.

I'm expecting a little less than Suter-like numbers for Reinhart, so that could be a real #1. Although CDH is really starting to look like one though.

Reinhart- 1/2
Pulock- 2/3
deHaan- 2/3
Hamonic- 3/4

Pulock will be the best d-man from this draft.
He's an all star caliber player.

You forgot the

He won't be better than Jones, Risto, Zads, or Nurse. He might make the top 5.

Hahaha are you kidding me... I watch the Wheat Kings play in Brandon about a dozen times a yr, and I would take 5 other d man that were drafted in the 2013 NHL draft over Pulock. He will be a #4 defenseman.. just watch

Definitely no homerism involved here...

Pulock is goning to struggle at even strength. He is just not very athletic on his feet, and it hinders him.

I wasn't impressed by him going into the draft, and haven't really been impressed with him in my viewings this year (3 live viewings this year which isn't a lot but enough to get a good impression).

He has excellent offensive tools, including a ridiculous shot, I mean an absolute hammer, which I think will carry him to the NHL, but I really question his overall awareness, athleticism, and defensive ability. I hope he proves me wrong cause I love seeing the Western League kids succeed but I just don't see star potential in Pulock.

I think you also forgot the , unless you actually think he has no shot at being a better defenseman than Zadorov... in which case I'm guessing homerism played no part in this post either.

That's what most Isles fans are hoping for and anything more would be a bonus.

You might be right. But as of right now there are 4-5 guys who are clearly superior to him and have a higer projection. I really liked Pulock last season and thought he projected more as a second or third pairing guy who can play on a teams top PP. Which would be great value for a 15th pick.

But when comparing him to Jones, Ristolainen, Zadorov and Nurse he is clearly behind those guys.

Nope. I had Zadarov in my top 10 before the draft last year. He has done nothing to change that. I had Pulock going to Isles in my mock as well.

And I think he could very easily become a wideman clone.

It's realistic and good with me.

Being a number four means 20 minutes in which he will be a good puck mover and provide offense from the backend even strength while obviously being the PP specialist he is.

I think I read we are bottom 5 in points from dmen. Visnovsky being hurt has a huge role in it as I think he has played under 20 games or so. We need more production from the backend and I'm glad we picked up Pulock when I wasn't so high on him at the time. Good job Garth and staff.

I think more then most other guys drafted last year Pulock's offense will translate well to the NHL. Infact he probably will benefit from not being the focal point of other teams. Now the question is how well can he learn to play defense and that will be the difference between him being a first pairing, second pairing or a 3rd pairing PP specialist

In 16 games(AHL) so far he has 8G - 4A for 12 points

Hope he can continue that trend and have like 35G and 15A for the season

I wonder how much longer the Isles will be able to hold out if their top PP unit continues to struggle. SEVEN PP goals in 16 games is pretty impressive, especially for a D and even more-so from a rookie-D.

I always expected Pulock to eventually replace Visnovsky, but I thought it would happen next year. I could see it happening much sooner now.

He and Reinhart are going to be studs.

Sort of funny with Reinhart his offensive game is doing great in Bridgeport(10 games 8 points), his defensive game not so much. In the case of Pulock if Vishnovsky or Boychuk go down I can see him getting the call up to see how he does on the PP

5th in defenseman scoring across the entire AHL, and 4th in rookie scoring for all skaters.

He's hot right now, but he looked impressive in his cup of coffee in the preseason. I hope the Isles struck gold with this kid. Our blueline has shaped into a solid group of 6 guys, but we are still looking for that stud workhorse that can be relied on in all situations.

I think Pulock was a steal and is NHL ready now.
Get rid of Donovan, Strait, and whoever.
Pulock could help the team right now.

I don't think his skating was ever really that bad. I think it got to a point where people started to critique is game a lot.

He had 3 full WHL seasons under his belt before being drafted, more time to pick apart his game. His development has been going very well... a common theme in the Isles organization.
