How to find out the size of a pair of Graf skates?

Can someone tell me where I can find out about the width of my Graf 705 skates? I lifted up the insole and saw the following marking on the bottom of the skate --> 5.5 R

Does that mean I have a pair of 5.5 Regular fit? I recall that my skates are 5.5 W instead. An I reading it wrong?

If it is then it's kind of strange because even a pair of 5.5 EE Bauer skate barely fits me.

Should be a tag on the side of the tongue that says D or E or whatever.

R denotes a regular (standard D) width.

N = narrow
R = regular

dunno about wide - I have skinny feet. but w would make logical sense.
