You know don't we start these polls in the offseason? Feels weird to do these and not even be in the playoffs yet.

My understanding is Orlov is basically a Russian version of Karl Alzner -- doesnt do any one thing brillantly, but does everything very well. Is that correct?

from what i hear a little more green, but boom of a slapshot, and that really is a laser he has. but has a few lapses in his own zone, alzner i don't think has ever had that associated with him.

i dont think so. he has a cannon of a shot and is mobile enough to use it. so, if he were karl alzner with a first rate shot, he'd be a completely different player than alzner.

alzner's minutes are distributed a certain way because he is not a power play player. if orlov can handle pk minutes and power play minutes, he's a 24 minute player. alzner is more like a 20 minute player.

alzner made rookie mistakes. has made them this season.

what makes alzner unique is that he is a shutdown defenseman that never takes a penalty. Since Jan 1. he has 2 minor penalties....TWO!!!!!

I don't like mid season polls. you want to know my top 10 prospects now, just ask, lets not drag it on for 10 weeks. The stock price is changing all the time. Orlov is new in Hershey, so why grade him right now... I prefer later when their value is more fixed. Kuz and everyone else at the end of the season. Its how to kill time in the off season.
