Most valuable player to each team

My question isn't who is the most skilled player on your team, but who really keeps the team together?

Ill start, I think Reimer for the leafs is the most valuable guy. They play WAY better in front of Reimer. The Atlanta game was a great example, it 2-0 he got injured we lost 3-2 in OT. He Really gets this team playing better

For Vancouver I would probably have to say Ryan Kesler. He's the number 2 leading goal scorer in the league, he plays in every situation, and is one of the top defensive forwards in the league. He's becoming the heart and soul of the team.

For the Oilers, probably Horcoff. He's the one who has helped the rookies with their development the most, and is the only player we could put on the ice at any time and not question (too hard) what he was doing there.

St. Louis, no question. IMO the team will fall apart when he retires (please say thats not for a long time)

I honestly wanted to say Brad Richards. All year I have pretty much felt that Dallas was screwed if they didn't sign him.

Now ..... Jamie Benn might have to be the honest choice. He's amazing to watch. Richie is a thing of a beauty on the PP and in the offensive zone. On the other hand, Benn dominates in all areas of the ice. He doesn't even seem to know how good he can be.

According to Dallas' PxP guy, he likes playing center. He's already having a breakout year in most aspects of the game, but I honestly believe he'll have a breakout season next year on offense.

For the Flyers, I would say Pronger but it's really, really close with Richards. You cannot quantify what these guys bring to the table in terms of steady defense, confidence, experience, leadership, etc.

For the Kings I would say Ryan Smyth, no he isn't as talented as Doughty or Kopitar or Johnson but he's a consummate pro who makes timely plays is more consistent than anyone else on the team in terms of his effort. Brown is up there, too, he makes smart plays and never backs down from a challenge.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Travis Zajac. This Devils team has proven they can win without Brodeur and Parise. Kovalchuk is great but we have tons of LW depth, and lets be honest with his contract he's never ever going to be available. But outside of Zajac the Devils center depth is Elias (a converted winger), Josefson (rookie), and Steckel (has played 1 game).

Zajac is a Selke-caliber 25-goal center making under $4M a season and is the only legitimate center on the Devils roster. Parise *could* potentially be available for the right price but Zajac is not getting moved for anything other than colossal overpayment.

As a Leaf fan I agree with Reimer. Early in the season it was probably Grabo, possibly Schenn. Also if Kessel keep up this play (not the goal a game just effort and all round play) he could be our MVP in the end.

I tend to agree with this ... the only players I can't imagine playing elsewhere are Marleau, Boyle and Couture.

Spezza for Ottawa, when he was out there was no offense, he's back and were doing decent. But recently I'd say Craig Anderson, we've played night and day with him in net, even the with the loss against Boston, we only lost 1-0.

If the Canucks lose Kesler, they instantly lose the 20+ minutes per night that he brings, most of the scoring depth on the team, and our best defensive forward.
