Speculation?

I will take a shot for the Avs. Stastny, he quietly does a really good job whether you notice him or not. Might not always be on the score sheet but makes up for it with his well rounded game and faceoff ability.

I disagree. Thornton is easily the correct answer for the Sharks...with a nod towards Boyle as the clear #2. Marleau is probably 3rd, but he's closer to Pavelski than he is to Boyle.

Getzlaf n Perry. As a Nuck fan I hate admitting that, but the Ducks wouldn't even be talked about if these guys aren't who they are.
The whole Yotes teams IMHO should be named MVP, they are always so scrappy n right in the mix.
Weber Suter Rinne, Nashville obviously one of the top Defensive teams in the League let alone the West.

Just for boredoms sake I took a crack at the Western conference as I found for many Eastern teams I wasn't as sure:

Anaheim Ducks - Perry
Calgary Flames - Kiprusoff
Chicago Blackhawks - Toews
Colorado Avalanche - Duchene (tough one with Statsny)
Columbus Blue Jackets - Nash
Dallas Stars - Eriksson
Detroit Red Wings - Datsyuk
Edmonton Oilers - Hall
Los Angeles Kings - Quick
Minnesota Wild - Koivu
Nashville Predators - Rinne
Phoenix Coyotes - Yandle
San Jose Sharks - Couture
St. Louis Blues - Backes
Vancouver Canucks - Kesler

Toews without a doubt. He has single handedly carried the team on his back and put them back into a good position to make the playoffs.

Honorable mention to Corey Crawford. After the Turco experiment didn't work, Crawford stepped in and has been incredibly consistent and has put up very good numbers this year. We wouldn't be in playoff contention if we didn't have him and still had Turco starting.

previously I would have said Hemsky. Right now (despite his injuries over the last year) he is still the best player on the roster.
In a couple years, I agree with Hall, however right now I think the oil really miss Whitney.

Carey Price for the Habs and it's not close. Don't know where the Habs would be without him this year, for sure not in the top 8
