If we could trade our first and Carle to get a mid 1st rounder, that would be great.

Between 12 and 15/16/17 I mean.

I have a feeling Sherman is targeting Carle to play on the top pairing with EJ. That way, Shane O'Brien can go back to being a bottom pairing guy and not forced out of his element.

I'm sure the Avs 2nd is a part of it (the one they didn't trade to Washington). Maybe Winnik or Galiardi would be added. Not sure though, what do Flyers fans think? Would he be able to play with EJ?

Have you watched us play recently??? We suck defensively. Just go watch our game against the Oilers on Thursday. They got a PP in the 2nd period and controlled the puck the ENTIRE length of it until they put the puck in the net. They had us running around in circles chasing the puck even when they weren't on the PP. It's pretty bad when you are the top scoring team in the NHL and you are only 6th in the east and only a +16 goal differential. Go look at the goal differential for the other top scoring teams that are playoff bound. Vanc, Det, Boston, Pens, they ALL have exceptional goal differential. The only other top scoring playoff bound teams with a bad goal differential are the Sens and Chi. The Hawks need dmen too and the Sens are playing well over their heads. Without better defensive play none of these 3 teams (including the Flyers) will go anywhere in the playoffs.

The Flyers have been almost unwatchable on defense for about 2 months.

When you limit a team to 21 shots and still have to win in the shootout, I would say that is a big plus on the D for blocking shots and taking away chances. Doesn't mean the goalie is the same way though.
