The defence pairings in practice are now Tanev - Ballard and Rome - Salo

Also, glad to be playing the Kings again. Haven't played them since the 4th game of the year.

We're 0-for-2 against the Kings this year, would be nice to get a victory. The Twins and Burrows had quite a few quality chances against Nashville, so here's hoping this is a game where they bump their slumps in spite of the dreaded "afternoon start".

Strange seeing a Saturday game on SPac, although it is an afternoon game.

I feel this will be the game they get some offense going.
But I think they'll lose a close one.

4-3.

HFboards explodes.

Kings won Their last game 1 0. Canucks are due for goals. I see a high scoring sloppy game. 5 4 kings.

Kings are a great defensive team, we gotta get our **** together but this road trip is entirely defensive/relatively low scoring teams.

btw how many years have the canucks employed a defense first system Iam thinking only the 1.5 years of AV, we have had relatively tough fun to watch hockey throughout our history even through the deadpuck.

Vigneault said the plan is for both injured players Bieksa and Higgins to join team Tuesday in Phoenix, to practice not play yet.

Mitchell received over 60 stitches and went right back into the game yesterday.

That Crawford coached team was a lot of fun to watch. It is more then a little ironic that we had an offensive team in the "dead puck" era and then came out of the lock-out with a defensive team.

The boys are obviously in a slump right now. Seems they usually come in 10 game stretches and the team usually deserves better results then they get before it ends. I think they play well and lose this one before finally getting things back on track.

Puck or stick? Yikes. The guy's a warrior, that's for sure...

And good news about Higgins and Bieksa, can't wait for them to join the starting lineup.

My bad, it's actually only 54.

Huh?

GA/G ranking:

LAK: 4th
ANA: 21st
PHX: 17th
SJS: 8th
CGY: 16th

Only 2 of the 5 teams are even in the top half of the league defensively. Conversely, 4 of the 5 teams are in the top half of the league offensively.

I thought Lu would've be rested seeing as they've always been afraid to play him in early starts after the injury he suffered in Pittsburgh a few years back.

so i'm assuming this strange start time + not HNIC thing is somehow the fault of the Staples Center?

very weird. don't really like it.

Unless I missed it, I don't think it's been confirmed that Luongo is starting.

I'm sure most of you heard this when I did (last years series with LA?) but I was just thinking about how strange it is that Simmonds(sp?) played in the first NHL game he attended. Maybe it's more common then I would have thought, I'm sure it's common with european players. Still seems strange to me from a North American player

They owe us at least 5 for making us watch the last few games

Well with us losing our last game we already know we won this game, seeing how we have a pattern with win one lose one.

For some random reason I just expected Penner to play on the second line, kind of like an Edmonton reunion...

It seems like everyone who could conceivably be called a left wing in the Kings organization has played in that position on Kopitar's line this season, so Kopitar is no longer surprised by having some new guy there.
