Alright the first deal was obviously in LA's favor, but this is just ridiculous. No way LA even considers this. Hopefully you're not serious.

Quality, not quantity.

What part of 'you start with Schenn' do Kings fans fail to understand? If he's not in the deal, it doesn't happen. Period. End of story. Get your elite goal scorer somewhere else.

It doesn't even start with Schenn. It starts with Doughty. The Devils may have to add, but not much. There is no way Parise is dealt in the first place, nevermind for picks and prospects. I don't want to trade a proven 35-45 goal scorer for guesses.

You know what, I don't think Parise is worth a singe player on the kings roster. Not Doughty, Kopitar, Schenn, Quick, Bernier, Smyth, Handzus or Stoll.

I heard Parise had to have his knees removed anyway, his career is over unless they let him play in a sled. Oh well...

I am actually laughing out loud.

When logic and reason fail bring in the spelling police!!!

Well zing pow and bam, you really showed me there Captain Spellcheck!

I am gonna go now and cry myself to sleep on my copy of Roget's Thesaurus.

So, I guess you haven't anything more on the actual subject at hand then, do you?

Not that I had noticed you saying anything other than those silly and unreasoned retorts but I was kind of hoping that you had an actual opinion as to why you think that everyone else was entirely wrong.

Care to give it a try? I think debating this subject could be fun.

Other posters and I will be working hard trying to make actual points and you will be busily checking our spelling and grammar for any errors. Come on, it'll be fun!

I'm afraid it's something neither of us will see for a while. And if he did, how would you react to Doughty signing an unmatchable offer sheet?

Hmmm, what actual points have you made in relation to this thread?

"Devil fans" and "Now your just adding to it. What a ridiculous post." don't really have much substance.

There's an acronym for that. It's 'lol'. You can also use ROFLMAO (Rolling on Floor Laughing My Ass Off) or derivatives like 'lollerskates' or 'roflcopter' which don't actually stand for anything, but incorporate 'lol' and 'rofl' into longer words for a humerous twist.

As for the trade proposal itself, you have a fan choosing his team's second best goalie and making him the centerpiece for a top 10-15 player in the league. I simply can't compete with that kind of comedic brilliance.

After all, with Philadelphia and Chicago showing us how indispensable an elite goaltender is for teams that want to go deep into the playoffs, trade value for young unproven goalies must be at an all time high.

You do realize he's an RFA, right? In other words - sure, test free agency all you want. If he signs a reasonable offer sheet with somebody else, we match and get Parise. If someone offers him too much, we've got 3 or 4 consecutive 1st rounders. No smart GM makes huge offers to RFA's anymore... for just that reason.

That's because the counter-offers are all intentionally bad. Devils fans are done taking "Parise to the Kings" threads seriously.

Except he can't test the market until his next contract runs out, because he's an RFA. (And don't hold your breath thinking he'll sign a one year deal and hit UFA immediately, it's more likely he signs long term or something like 3-5 years, probably with an NTC). Parise has said he wants to re-sign, and Lou has said he wants to re-sign Parise. It'll probably happen before July 1. He'll be here for several years, and he'll be wearing a C on his jersey. And all the stupidly bad proposals will stop.

That'd be criminal from L.A.'s standpoint. A very talented goalie, sure, a marketable third-line guy, OK, then a couple castoffs for a guy who would instantly be the best forward on their team by a wide margin with all respect to Kopitar, Brown, et al.

None of the real names in this deal are getting moved (Parise, Bernier, Simmonds).

Well, lets hope Penner is so big that he breaks the revolving LW door on the Kings top line. If not, living without a top LW like Parise, or Ovechkin will be OK for the regular season, but probably not for a Cup drive.

Would it really be that much of a difference if I wrote "IMO" before hand?

IMO, the Devils, IMO, will get Parise, IMO, for the right price, IMO. IMO, Parise won't sign any offer sheets, IMO, and IMO, if he did sign one, the Devils will, IMO, happily sign it, or, IMO, receive a hefty load of 1st round picks, IMO.

But that's just my opinion.

LOL at Kings fans who think they could get Parise without sending Schenn +.

Parise is one of the top players in the game, extremely underrated by those who don't watch closely.

I hate both teams so its hard for me to gauge value...but Parise for Schenn + another solid prospect + 1st. Even still, I doubt it gets done..... the Kings surplus is youth.....NJ would want players that could play now.

Kings may think thats an overpayment....but Parise is IMO among the most valuable FWDS in the game. Top 5-10 for sure.
