Hoping he usurps Raymonds spot on the 2nd line LW.

I'm having a hard time guessing who gets slotted down if Higgins started on one of the top three lines. I think he'll start on the fourth with Tambellini sitting.

I'd say second or fourth line. Most likely fourth dependant entirely on the play of Raymond.

How about trying him on the second line right away to try to get more chemistry between Kesler and him?

He'll probably start on the 4th and work his way up unless there's an injury

^^^^^This x 100.

Sedin-Sedin-Burr
Higgins-Kes-Sammy
Hansen-Manny Mo-Torres
Raymond-Lappy-Tambo/Glass.

Is what I'm hoping for, anyway. Rome's probably being bumped to top line duty with the Sedins, though.

Second or Third Line.

The lines could then look like

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
Higgins - Kesler - Samuelsson
Raymond - Malhotra - Hansen
Torres/Glass - Lapierre - Tambalinni

OR

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Kesler - Samuelsson
Higgins - Malhotra - Hansen
Torres/Glass - Lapierre - Tambelinni

OR (This owuld be great)

D. Sedin - H.Sedin - Samuelsson
Lapierre - Kesler - Burrows
Raymond - Malhotra - Hansen
Higgins/Torres - Bolduc - Tambellini

We would still have our 4th line centre issues, but man the line of Lappy, Kes, and Burr would be great

Not saying that would or should happen though.

so you're saying that either Glass or Torres would be scratched in favour of Tambalinni, er, Tambelini, er Tambellini...oh you're joking! good one man!

I'm hoping he proves he's a good option on the 2nd line with Kesler and Samuelsson. Otherwise, he'd be a good depth forward on the 4th line that can also play on the 2nd PP unit. I wouldn't want to break up the 3rd line, which has been playing so well recently. That's the team's designated checking line and should probably be left alone.

I voted 2nd line, but that is with the afore mentioned "hope" - that he performs that good. I have given up on Raymond, he has been decent but I would like to see him match his line mates better.

Raymond on the 4th line is intriguing as he'd be easily the most talented forward to play on the 4th line all season. Seeing as how Lapierre does indeed possess some skill with the puck, it would be interesting to see what a Raymond - Lapierre - Tambellini line could do. In games that are not projected to be as physical, the team could probably afford to scratch Glass in favour of a more skilled 4th line like the one I just mentioned.

before the deadline, I wanted to see an addition that would push Torres down to the 4th line. But Torres has been on a torrid pace the past while, and that line has been great. tough to see them broken up, but if they cool down, Higgins could be a nice fit there.

Raymond has had a couple of better games lately, but Higgins is an option on that line. but is he any better a fit than Raymond. Higgins is just as much a shoot-first guy as Raymond. maybe he's better along the wall and more willing to go to the traffic areas, which would make him a better fit. But Raymond isn't a good fit for the kind of fourth line AV clearly wants.

so I didn't vote because I think he'll move up and down, game to game, period to period. There's few forwards that are really locked into their spot (Sedins, Kesler, Malhotra). Everyone else, including Higgins will probably see time throughout the line-up over the course of the post season. That's how AV rolls, and that's the kind of roster Gillis has given him.

I can translate for you if you like. It loosely translates into something like:

"I do not care for your line suggestion of Raymond - Lapierre - Tambellini"

Although dialects can be tricky sometimes.

1st shift on the 4th line. then raymond will play himself off the 2nd line in the same game and higgins ends the night on the 2nd line, potting a natural hatty in the third.

He might be rusty, on a new team, new system, recovering from an injury -and our third line has been playing so well, I don't see him anywhere but the 4th sorry.

Things can change though obviously, I think his biggest opportunity is establishing himself down low and in front of the net on our 2nd pp unit

i figure it's gonna take him a bit of time to get back up to speed. but once he's back up to pace...

3rd line LW sounds about perfect to me.

Higgins-Malhotra-Hansen is a line you can legitimately trust out there against the top lines in the league. you lose a bit of a physical presence in Torres, but gain so much in defensive poise and intelligence.

of course, if that line is really rolling, it's hard to break that up. so it may have to wait until that happens. but in the meantime, Higgins-Lappy-Glass isn't a bad 4th line at all.

and beyond that...i don't see any reason why AV won't be able to sub Higgins in on that 2nd line if Raymond/Samuelsson aren't going and Higgins re-finds a bit of his scoring touch.

and finally...i wouldn't be at all shocked if AV decided to experiment with Higgins at C on the 4th line either.

lappy-malhotra-hansen
torres-higgins-glass

doesn't look entirely awful to me either if Higgins doesn't mind playing some C again, and Lappy proves to be a better defensive winger than Higgins or whatever.

No, I agree with the barfing cat image. There is no real direction for that line. It's like Malhotra flanking Rypien and a slumping Samuelsson it's half offense, half defense, but no set theme. We had a line like that in Glass-Wellwood-Bernier. Canucks fans unanimously thought that that line was the worst thing to happen to Canucks hockey since... alienating Bure? Burke? I don't think all of us have agreed so throughly before...A waste of Wellwood's offensive instincts, Bernier's size and...skill set? and a waste of Glass's style of play, physicality and forechecking.

In short, that's a "left over" line, which has no central theme, direction, or complementing skill set.

To each his own. I think the fact that all 3 of Raymond, Lapierre and Tambellini have great wheels and a scoring touch means they could accomplish more than your average fourth line. I would agree if you subbed Glass in for one of the wingers; then you're looking at kind of a "left over line". However, Raymond and Tambellini are both offensive players and Lapierre has a bit of scoring touch there. What can I say? Speed kills and that line has oodles of it.
