I'd be really surprised if we didn't make it, right now it's looking good and the team is playing really well.

To be honest I'm not scared of any team, I think Philly is our worse matchup but none of the other teams are scary. We'll see Tuesday how we do against the bruins now with kaberle

Boston would be nice, taking them out of the playoffs while them being huge favorites is always really fun

I'm guessing you just lazily cut and pasted the same thing 3 times in a row (sorry, looks like maybe 4 times) in your haste to make a thread, as no one could possibly mistakenly insert "You" instead of "Who" that many times without noticing...

edit: thanks to the mod or whoever who has fixed this. Definitely a minor pet peeve of mine when people are in such a rush to feel like they contribute something to this board that gobbledy-gook results.

no chance to catch up boston imo, so forget 6-8th seeds.. so in order between the top teams:

1- Tampa Bay
2- Pittsburgh
3- Washington
4- Boston
5- Phidalephia

We do have a chance, 5pts back with 2 games left against Boston, it's possible that's for sure. Will we, that's another thing but we definitely have a chance

If the Devils make the playoffs, I wouldnt want to face them too... Lemaire should win the Jack Adams even if they dont make the playoffs (and they probably won't)

Bruins. We'll be underdogs but if we beat them the hilarity would be too awesome.

This will be the 6th time in the last 7 season we make the playoffs (only time we missed was by 1 point).

Remember when we made it for the first time in 4 years in 2002? Seems like so long ago now.

Boston for me, they have a solid team for sure, but I feel the east is somewhat open and playing the bruins usually brings out the best in our club. I'm not afraid of them at all. I think they are quite vulnerable to an upset.

I'm with the ABF bandwagon, but Boston would likely be the most fun. Especially since on the radio show in Boston this week the commentators were talking about who they wanted to face in the playoffs and for them and the callers it was ABH (Anyone but Habs ). We're so much in their head it's hilarious.

Pittsburgh then Tampa Bay then Boston would be ideal. Beating Boston that late would be even harder on them.

Of course we are. Who fights a team not willing to fight when you're the team that's winning 8-5? What were the habs doing to the Bruins that made them go so insane? Usually the teams that start fighting are the ones losing. Boston is winning 8-5 and Thornton, Boychuk, Campbell attack Hamrlik, Pyatt and Spacek, the three greatest fighters in the history of the nhl. Oh and they do it with 6 minutes left in the game. Then the following faceoff, McQuaid jumps on Pacioretty.

The bruins are mentally weak and that game was just pathetic on their part. The fact that after all that we still managed to score 6 goals on the God that is Tim Thomas makes it even funnier. Bruins are scared **** of the Habs and its so obvious.

I think Pitt is the best matchup...

Malkin is out, and there is a good chance that Crosby won't be back, but even if he is, it would be better to face them/him right away while he's still rusty/trying to get his game conditioning back.

Taking on Pitt in the first round would be better than even finishing higher up and getting a buffalo/NJ/toronto/carolina...

why?

b/c that way you go into the 2nd round with Pitt out of the picture, hopefully without having gone 7 games, and whomever you have the potential of matching up with a lower seed having won in an upset or a higher seed hopefully pushed through a tough first round series.

worst possible scenario would be to match-up with Philly or Boston in the first round b/c even if we somehow managed to pull off the upset, you know that both of those teams would have taken their "pound of flesh" in the process and our small fwds and aging D would be physically run ragged.
