Title says it all. There's 16 matchs left and Price needs 9 more W. Do you think he'll make it. Will he starts the remaining 16 games, surely not.

It surely isn't out of the realm of possibilities but I think Price will get a few games off if we clinch our playoff spot so he's fresh when the postseason starts.

However, if he doesn't get a few games off, it's definitely possible.

I doubt it. Only 16 games left, Auld will get a couple of starts, and we'll be on the road more often than not.

If they give Auld another 2 starts, he has to win 9 of 14, which is doable, but improbable. I'll say 38-39 wins.

Price's 40th win would also be his 100th career win.

even Roy never got to 40 wins in his stint with Montreal
It seems 311 habs wins is the mark all time for a habs goalie, go carey!

Carey Price ,23, Hab from 2007 - present, 91 wins with habs franchise, 91 NHL wins, Career high, 31 and counting.

Jose Theodore , hab from 1996 to 2004, 0 cups, 1 vezina and 1 hart, 141 wins in habs franchise (245 NHL wins) career high : 33 wins

Patrick Roy, Hab from 1985 to 1995, 2 cups, 289 wins in habs franchise (551 NHL wins), Career high : 36 wins

Ken Dryden , hab from 1970 - 1979, 6 cups, 258 wins - 57 losses, all with habs and NHL, career high : 42 wins (ties him with Plante)

Gump Worsely, hab from 1963 - 1970, 4 cups, 92 wins in habs franchise (335 NHL wins) career high : 29 wins

Jacques Plante, hab from 1952 - 1963, 6 cups, 311 wins in habs franchise (434 NHL wins), Career High: 42 wins (twice)

Bill Durnan hab from 1943- 1950, 2 cups, 208 wins in habs franchise (208 NHL wins) Career high: 38 wins (twice) (won the vezina 6 times in his 7 year career)

Goerge Hainsworth, hab from 1926-1933, 2 cups, 167 wins in habs franchise, (246 NHL wins)

George Vezina, hab from 1910-1926, 2 cups, 173 wins in habs franchise (103 NHL wins)

Any goalie records from 2005-onward needs to have an asterix beside it. Still, would be a great achievement for Price. Totally deserved, what a wonderful year he's had.

And for all those wondering: NO, unfortunately carey would not be the youngest to 100 wins :/, i beleive someone in the 40's did it or something and Tom barasso was 22 years 9 months old when he hit 100 wins (thanks alot mario!)

the GOOD news is brodeur was 25 when he hit 100 wins

Interesting possibility.

He would need to win 9 more games with 16 left. I am fairly sure he will not play all of them. There is a late back-to-back with Atlanta and Carolina. Safe to assume he misses one of those (probably ATL).

The only other back-to-back involves Tampa and the NYR next week. I'm not sure you really want him to sit one of those out, but i think he may (the Rangers game maybe?)

So unless our playoff positions is set in stone by the time we play Ottawa and Toronto to end the regular season you probably will see him play 14 games.

so he'd need to go 9-5.

WE play the Bruins 2 more times, Blackhawks, and Devils (always tough for us). that's 4 games that could very well end up as L's.

Then there are a bunch of games versus eastern playoff (or bubble) teams. (Pittsburgh, Washington (x2), Rangers, Carolina, Buffalo, Tampa, Toronto) that could go either way.

I'm leaning towards no... more like 37-38 wins. But I don't think it's impossible by any means. Especially if they stay hot.

I will say, if they beat the Bruins tonight, I think his chances are much greater than the 1 extra win it gives.

Yeah... doesn't matter much, despite it would be nice to have the record.

What does matter is that the kid is clearly able to be a franchise goalie for many years, which to me is STILL the #1 piece to have to win a cup.

if price averages 35 wins a season for the next 15 years he'll finish with about 616 wins, that'd be pretty legit

Ive been going through endless stats for hours now

ALL signs...point towards a goalie like carey and what hes accomplished ALREADY + what his potential is later on throughout his career

ALL signs point towards a TOP 5 ALL TIME (goalie) career... thats MAJOR...now, thats alot of pressure and BIg shoes to fill, ...but carey can DO this..

we must sign this guy for the next 10 years, easily.

I kinda hope not because that's a lot of starts and goalies who've had that many times in the season normally don't do well in the playoffs.

Imagine if the Toronto game Price is in nets gets his 40th win of season, 100th win of his career and eliminates Toronto from postseason

Luc Gelinas said a few days ago that he wouldn't be surprised if Price gets all the starts until the end of the season (based on a comment made by Jacques Martin).

Even if Auld gets 2 starts, it's possible that Price could get 9 wins out of 14 games. Let's hope so!

Price will come close (I say 38 wins), but I expect the Habs to rest him more in the last few games, so he can be ready for the playoffs! They don't want to Nabokov him!

Seriously, I'm not impressed by Price's win/loss stats at all.

31-21-6 = 31 wins and 27 losses. Price has won 4 more games than he has lost. It's good, but nothing impressive.

And no, he won't reach 40 wins.

It's pretty impressive when the team barely scores goals for him.

There's a reason why teams get a point for a loss in overtime or shootout...

Actually, Price was often the reason why the Habs got a point in those games.

Try again!

Possible but I think it will all depend on how the team is doing and as a consequence how many games Auld is given to rest Price for the playoffs.

Well if you think of it point wise thats 68 out of a possible 116 Not that bad considering he is one of the youngest starting goaltenders in the league. You also have to take into consideration that he's stolen at least 10-15 of these games. Team stats dont necaserily tell all of the story I dont know if you have watched all 66 games this year but ive caught at least 55-60 and its obvious he is the best player on the ice for the habs night in night out.
