Per LeBrun via twitter

I'm sad because I like him, but this was long overdue

keep him on as a radio guy though, it's definitely what he will be doing when he stops playing. Great guy, but no longer useful in the NHL

Marco Sturm on waivers today. I wish there was a way to pick him up, but we need a center and he's too expensive

Per Josh Cooper: Belak, Sulzer, and Sullivan are not at practice today.

Let the rumors begin

I don't mind being in the minority.

I've always liked Belak and hate to see him go. I like what he brought and we had a good record with him in the line-up.

What is the cash/cap impact if he isn't claimed? None, unless he then retires?

If there is a cash/cap impact I would tend to think we are trying to save dollars with this move and the Svatos move because a significant salary is headed our way.

Otherwise, it feels like warm bodies are headed our way.

Thank god. We finally maybe having changes headed our way. Sullivan and Sulzer to someone for a SCORING FORWARD. Hell, give them that bum Chet Pickard while you are at it. Worst first round pick ever.

I think they're giving Belak one last chance to get picked up by a team that needs or wants him. I think he's likely been told that he's played his last game, either way.

At least Finley graced NHL ice. I am almost 100% sure Pickard will never again grace AHL ice with this organization...

Picakrd and Smith will be the goalies in Milwaukee next year. No way we keep Dekanich since he's UFA. Why would he stay unless he has a clear chance at the NHL? With Rinne and Lindback, road appearst to be blocked for a couple of years anyway.

It makes no sense waiving Belak since he is on a 1 way. Somebody must of asked for him to put on waivers.

Belak will end up in Milwaukee if not claimed. With Sulzer and Belak off of the roster, a little cap room is opened up ... almost $290k for the remainder of the year ... or what Tootoo is due for the rest of the season. We now have a couple of roster spaces to make a move, but not a lot of extra cash.

Isn't Belak on a 1 way deal? With the trading of Sulzer and waiving of Svatos I wouldn't think that roster numbers would be an issue unless the Preds were planning on trading for several people. Surely someone must have asked us to put Belak on waivers.

The only thing a one way means is that Belak would make the same salary in the AHL as in the NHL. It has nothing to do with ability to send him down or cap implications once he is off the books.

Right but that's what I'm saying why pay him his NHL salary in the AHL? I didn't think about cap implications. Perhaps that are trying to clear some cap room or someone asked for him to be waived. I guess we'll see here soon.
