again, i'm not counting them out...i'm merely stating that the kings are far from solid...but you prefer dempsey...and i prefer schneider...you're entitled to your opinion...i'm not shoving mine down anyone's throat...
ok.
and if you see my post again...i said we're abit above average...not weak...
and i'm saying they ARE solid. i dont see too many holes in our defense to justify getting someobody else becuase we are good enough. we now need to work on our forwards and getting our top 6 bulked up. you say we're a bit above average, but then you also say we're far from solid. quite contrasting arguments if you asked me.

well, i can't help you if you don't know the difference between them guy...abit above average can be construed as far from solid...at least thats what it is to me.

I agree. Our D is SOLID, goaltending is solid an 3rd and 4th lines should be solid. We need top 6 scoring.

you're not. before last season, i was sure that our defense was going to be awesome. jfont convinced me otherwise and he was dead on, and i think we can pretty much say that it was nothing short of a miracle that our defense held together last year. we had a game with modry as our #1! jason holland led us in ice time for a stretch! disaster! abort mission! danger danger fire in the disco! maybe i'm seriously underrating our guys, but you can NEVER have too many solid defensemen, and, while this year is certainly looking better than last year, and it is the first time in years we've had a net gain of defensemen, i wouldn't call our defense "solid" by any means.

as far as a top-six forward, unless you can get your hands on someone with game-breaking ability (ie palffy, allison), don't bother. let a kid with some fire in his belly and hustle in his legs have a go at things. and honestly, i think people are getting a bit too caught up in putting our team into a traditional model and demanding a "true #1 center," and saying that we need a "true #1 scoring line." i think its pretty clear that murray's lines are unorthodox and built more for versatility and solid two-way play than anything else. not saying that i wouldn't like elite, point-per-game players, but i doubt that the organization is going to be able to get any and i'm not convinced that success is predicated on them in any case.

Not sure why that scares you.

Modry isnt on the team anymore, Holland will probably play in Manchester if not the 7th man.

Matty is healthy.

Miller, who was hurt before the season started after taking a puck off the foot in pre season last year will be healthy.

We added Dempsey who put up 7 points in 17 games

Lubo, is always getting better, and as long as he is healthy......we got one helluva shot on the point.

Quintal, much better defensivly than Modry

Then the rest of the crew which includes some very strong young talent.

it scares me because miller is good for about 50 games per season, and lubo, as awesome as he is, is also fairly fragile, and quintal is playing in likely his last nhl season and so cannot be relied upon to eat up major minutes. again, i'm not saying that our defense isn't vastly improved over last season, and dempsey and quintal were both excellent pickups. what i am saying, however, is that there are question marks surrounding many of our defensemen, and with the way our team has been the last two seasons, it wouldn't surprise me if our top five guys went down in a freak shopping cart accident, leaving us with a defense not unlike last season's - tied for 21st in the league. The Kings would do better to resign Allison, even if he cant play he would still be better than Nedhead.
Huh??? Do you mean 1994??? In which case the Kings obviously did not beat the Canucks because they went on to meet the Rangers in the Final. Which year are you referring too???
