We've played without Backstrom all season. This doesn't change much.

Zing!

The major change is the trickle-down effect. Now Laich is at center instead of wing. Now Sturm is a 2LW instead of a 3LW. etc. etc.

I just want to see some killer instinct against the worst team in the league tonight.

Too much to ask?

This. People under estimate the impact of line-matching, it gets a ton more publicity or coverage in Baseball but is just as important for in this sport.

I think we have all painfully realized that lighting up the worst team in the league, at home no less, is winning 2-1. And after going down a goal, of course.

Killer instinct once again means:

Injuries aside we've played quite well of late .... there is truly no reason why we should not come out and dominate this evening. They played last night too and got worked if I recall.

Vogel tweeted that he's week-to-week day-to-day and won't might make the road trip next week.

Per Katie, Beagle is healthy and practiced but scratched for tonight along with King and Sloan and Fehr is in.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they are not rushing Fehr back. There's no reason to deter from the plan they put in place with #52 or #19 .... let them rest. My GDT streak will take care of this one

I completely agree, but if this season taught us anything… there is no such thing as a blowout by Capitals, regardless of the fact that we should, would or could, but yeah, one can only hope.

edit: Did you see what happened in NJ-Ottawa game last night? Now you tell me you didnt see NJ rolling over Ottawa (who I think is weaker then Edmonton) as they should, and what happened?
So I’ll stick to my 3-1 prediction and add: with an empty netter by OV!
…and hope that I’m wrong and it’s something like 5-1 with a hat trick for our Captain.

Excited to see Fehr back in the lineup, though at the expense of Backstrom's perfect games played record is sad.

Hoping for more then a 1 goal win for a change of pace. I guess Arnott brought those over with him from Jersey.

Nothing less than a decisive win vs the Oliers is acceptable. Not only are they a bad team, they're coming off a tough road loss in Philly last night. Time to assert our dominance!

A good start would be nice. Edmonton has the worst first period goal differential in the league. Washington has scored the least amount of first period goals (39)...six goals less than EDM/NYR.

fewer

If we expect the best from our team, let's first expect the best from ourselves.

So with Beagle scratched, Brooks at center? Otherwise they need to drop one of Chimera, Sturm or Fehr to the 4th line. If so,

OV-MoJo-Knubs
Sturm-Arnott-Semin
Chimera-Brooks-Fehr
Hendo-Gordo-Professor

Sure would love to see Sturm and or Fehr get going tonight. That third line could be nice.
