Must win yet again.

The teams behind and around us need to settle down and lose occasionally

Huge game, but every game is now.

Hopefully they keep the strong effort up and pull out a win.

Stajan needs to re-invent himself from now until the team hits the links (hopefully with a cup).

His play this year has been so underwhelming, as I expected. But I'd love nothing more then for him to pull a Jokinen on me. He needs to put more pucks in the net, plain and simple. With Morrison out, someone has to pick up their feet. With his contract comes the expectation that he is an offensive leader on this team.

GO FLAMES!!!

my god stop with the ****ing Stajan hate... he's paid to be a 2nd liner and plays as such... if you are relying on a single 2nd liner to be 'an offensive leader' you are doomed from the get go

Blame Morrison, he's raised our expectations of value for money.

I don't expect him to be an offensive leader on this team, but I sure as hell expect more offense from him than he's provided so far. Hopefully he starts to pick it up.

I'm not really a Stajan fan.

except he doesn't play on our 2nd line, granted we role pretty even minutes. He has 5 ****ing goals!!! and 28 pts. How can anyone defend him, for his contract this organization needs more. He's the kind of player that sucks the life out of an management because he is mediocre at everything. He's not gritty, he's not a defensive specialist, and he doesn't score big goals.

He's a signing mistake that will likely amount to use seeing Morrison walk. Who has been the best click with Iginla since Langkow pre-Jokinen, and at a fraction of the price.

I want to see Tanguay, Morrison, and Glencross back next season. Take out Stajan's contract and we could easily do it, though there won't be any takers.

All my whining would stop if he'd just prove his worth at some point this season. Clearly a good opportunity would be now.

hmmmm...Interested to see what Moss can bring to the top line. Really like the Jokinen line, and am happy to see stajan where he belongs. Hopefully the lines can stick and not do the Sutter shuffle all night.

the more you talk the more i know you dont even watch the game and just post here to see your own font... 2/3 of every one of those lines is exactly the same as it has been for a couple months now... including Stajan who is shown on the '4th line' because the herald lists the checking line as the 3rd line

and i repeat stop your ****ing crying about stajan, the guy has had a head injury and a shoulder injury this year and was playig with bourque and hagman while they were snake bitten... you do know play makers cant get assists if their linemates don't score right?... i knew that was a little complicated for you to grasp

Stajan has been our most consistently underwhelming player all year, excuses are just excuses. It's up to him alone to elevate his game and I hope he can do it.

its as important to identify why a player might be struggling as much as it is to identify they are struggling... if you don't think a should injury that cost him pretty much all of training camp and then a concussion won't effect his game you are nuts... Stajan is paid to do more than score goals, in fact i would argue when we signed him scoring goals was the least of his attributes we were seeking... we were seeking his passing and an all around game that's good but not spectacular... there is one deficiency in his game this year and its goals and he has shown through his career that will happen, but *****ing and crying about him constantly is just pathetic... 'fans' like that need to learn to support our players... its people like that who run players out of town... the way we treat our scapegoats in calgary is nothing short of pathetic... in that aspect of fandom we make canucks fans look good

Granted it is kind of a white wash with our 3rd/4th line. But Hagman and Modin were on the 4th line the last couple games if I'm not mistaken. Jackman has been on the 3rd line for a while, Kostopolous moves up from the 4th.

I don't like Stajan to begin with. I'm not crapping on him because of this season alone. You didn't see me bashing Iggy and Bourque when they had their respective downs. I find Stajan to be mediocre and ineffectual. He doesn't excel at anything in particular, including playmaking. 5 goals?!! Their is no excuse for that, expecially with the money he makes. Everyone deals with injuries during the season, if he was playing through an injury this whole time and not at 100% he would not be playing. This team is deep enough to sit his ass out if needed, especially with the marginal offense he brings.

I'm just as big of a flames fan as you. If players don't live up to expectations, they should hear it from the fans.

5 ****ing goals!!!!!!

All I care about is the team. If Stajan can pull a Jokinen I will jump over the moon because this will be a very dynamic team. Right now we could play Meyers or Bouma and they would be just as effective as Stajan.

PS. I've seen every game this year with the exception of 6 or 7.

I would have no issues with Stajan if he was being paid 2 million a season. In a cap world his contract causes us problems because he is not playing up to his cotracts standards. I really want Morrison back next year and he deserves an extension as much as anyone else whose contract is up at the end of the season. If we could move Stajan in the offseason for anything including a 7th round pick I would do it just to rid his contract from our books.

Unless he really steps it up from here on out I'd have to agree with you. He hasn't done anything last year (when there was no excuse because of injuries) or this year to indicate he can have success on this team in relation to his contract.

Gotta love that 9 day tryout that Sutter used to make up his mind for the next 4 years...

Anywho, sorry for all the down talk. Not to many reasons to be upset with the way this team has played. Big win tonight hopefully, and having richards on his 1st night back should actually work to our benefit.

Day off tonight, hoping for a great game... and no injury/suspension stuff that we've seen far too much of lately league-wise.

3-1 Calgary.

Oh please.

The guy has 8 goals in 89 games with Calgary. That is pathetic I don't care how great his passing game is. He's been able to get AT LEAST 10 goals every year with the lowly Leafs, usually 15 or 16 in a season. He has 5 this year. I don't care how you want to sugar coat it, the guy is being paid to score like a 2nd line center.... he is not, plain and simple.

I have also been very disappointed in Stajan this year, maybe injuries are an issue but his game has been weak this year. He gets knocked off the puck with ease and has absolutely no finish. Ya he is not known for goal scoring but countless time he has been set up with a wide open net and can't finish the job, his hand eye coordination this year as a whole has been horrible. Even though he isn't brought in for scoring. he shouldn't be last in goals out of all the forwards on the Flames roster. Can't even remember the last goal he got besides the 9th goal in the Colorado thumping. But whatever were winning without his contribution and he is pretty good defensively.

Moss didn't look too out of place on the first line and with Olli playing so well where he is and Stajan being complete **** I think it is the best option.
