Well habs fans none of us are particularly happy about the injury. We're sad for you, and we can relate having probably seen Savard's career come to an end too.

The Chara suspension won't end up being long enough for any of you to feel justice. The only justice will be beating us in the playoffs, which is the kind of competitive spirit I hope from you guys. Let's hope that we meet there and have a good clean series.
.

Seriously, are you comparing an old (33+ yr old) player's forced retirement, after a full career of glory, to the career-ending injury of one of our main prospect when the kid is 22 year old?

count 4 down from the base of your skull. it's in your neck there. Frankly I doubt any doctor could tell you today what the consequences will be. I had a much less serious neck injury 6 years ago, and I can't do any sports now. Really depends on how Max heals. He also has access to the best doctors in the world, which can make all the difference.

Honour in hockey is dead.
I guess Cooke's headshot to Savard can now be considered a "strong hockey play" too.

Bruins organization/staff/team = bunch of clowns.

We are all saying how Colin Campbell should be fired whenever such an incident occurs, then he hands out a miniscule suspension and we all go about our merry way but at what point does the government step in and say enough is enough? A young man almost lost his life yesterday for CHRIST ****ING SAKE!!!!!!

It's funny cause everybody yesterday was saying we should beat the bruins with our speed and skill. That we should let them take penalties and capitalize on the PP. Well thats exactly what we did and **** like this still happens. Honnestly i don't know how we should play these guys anymore... The idea of bringing up every goon seemed absolutely crazy a couple days ago but if this keeps happening what are we suppose to do? I like a good clean physical game but this is not what has been happening against this team. This stupid bruins team just does not know how to real hockey against us.

Finally i am EXTREMELY disapointed with this event and am hopping Pacioretty will be back with us at some point it would be such a big loss...

Habs got pwnd.

So much potential.. IF he comes back he probably wont be the same and will not emerge into that power forward he was going to become...

ugh

Man im genuinely pissed off. Chara is just a big oaf. I swear if this all stems from the little push patch game him 3 games ago, then Chara has some serious mental problems. Doesn't he realize he is over 6 inches taller than him. The guy needs to grow up.

I'm truly disgusted.

How could anyone defend Chara's doings? He knew what he did all along; him just skating away, never looking back at Pacioretty, acting all innocent (while deep inside he knew what he did).

The league will hand out a couple of games to Chara, with pay. These are vacation, my friends. Rest for possibly ending a kid's career.

The league's waiting until someone is pronounced dead on the ice to start handing out punishments. Disgusting, inhuman, pathetic!

Chiarelli was busting our balls, coming on montreal radio stations every other week to complain about that Bergeron hit, how it was a disgrace etc etc. Now he comes with this ********

Did some digging, Brian Savage missed 4 months with three cracked vertebrae in his spine.

I could only find specific reference to two. They found two in LA at the time it happened, one later.

http://www.canoe.ca/HockeyMontrealArchive/dec1_slo.html

At the end of the article he says he cracked his C4 and C7.

Horrible injury and he was not exactly the same after, but this bodes well for Pacioretty. Assuming there's not more to learn, I'd guess Pacioretty has more to fear from the head injury than the neck injury.

On a purely selfish note, every time the habs are doing well something terrible like this happens to ruin it for me (Zednik, Koivu and now Pacioretty). I can't see how I'll be able to enjoy the rest of the season + playoffs now. But this really doesn't matter I guess, hope Max gets better.

This time Campbell won't have anything to do with the ruling. Curious to see what Murphy does.

Murphy boss is Campbell. They are both golfing buddies. Do you really think he's going to hurt the team Campbell's son plays for?

As long as Campbell's son is in the NHL, Campbell should not be working for the NHL front office.
