Neither was a Bruin at the time and he called Savard a fake artist because Campbell got a penalty for slashing him or something..

Serve a warning for the NHL and Chara.
This is part of the sad decision the league just took. Now the players have to take it on themselves to serve justice, and it will get ugly. I just wonder who would take on Chara

btw I find it hilarious that the league basically just said that their refs were completely wrong in giving chara a game and 5 mins.

That was also insane, and the same damn rationale is being used.

"There is no rule, they cannot invent one."

Common sense needs to come into play, but has no place at NHL head office.

Honestly, if Pacioretty had (god forbid) been killed... What the heck would they have done? My guess? Nothing different.

No suspension because its impossible to prove intent when its hidden behind a hockey play.

It's a shame. It took a slew of concussions for the league to finally crackdown on the shoulder to head hit and cross checking to the boards. I guess it'll take a few more broken necks before they hold people accountable for running people into those stanchions.

For the Bruins fans saying it was a clean hit and that's why Chara wasn't suspended do you also agree that Cooke's hit on Savard was clean also since he wasn't suspended?

I'm more upset than angry...
Of course the most important things are (in order):

1)Max's health
2)We lost the player we've been waiting for for over a decade
3) Season looks bleak (obviously still a supporter, but we needed Max to go deep )

then

4) The suspension and more importantly, what it indicates:
i.e. the league has zero judgment abilities, thinks that an act like that is not punishable AT ALL, and that it is going further and further into MMA territory and away from an awesome sport and a league where glory is achieved through excellence, not criminal activity that panders to bloodthirsty fans

forget the "south", the American NHL has never been more healthy

Forget that.

When Montreal plays Boston next, this would be my literal line-up (there is no roster limit on numbers post-deadline)... Cap allowing:

Hamilton Bulldogs

They should literally REFUSE to ice an NHL team... Heck, or even play the game.

I think we got off lucky. The league didn't fine us for wasting some precious time of Chara with the phone call. And they didn't fine us either for having the glass post purposely injuring Pax while Chara was trying to save Pax by reaching to his face with his hand.

I'm totally disgusted by the decision. Some of these people that are posting here need to check their credentials as a human.

Stay classy guys. No talk of injury.

Habs have something bigger on their side than the league. Remember that!

Chara will get his. Just be patient.

CBJ fan here... I come in peace, I promise

I saw the game live... I really thought that Chara would've gotten a 1 or 2 game suspension for reckless play. Kind of like the citing in the rule about hits from behind into the boards when playing the puck behind the net... where it says that responsibility lies with both players, one for recognizing the unsafe circumstance putting the other player in a vulnerable position, and the other for trying their best to not let themselves be in a vulnerable position... The players have been playing this game for a long time, they should know where they are on the ice in relation to glass partitions... that being said, I feel after watching the replay's that Chara was wanting to hit him into the glass between the benches and just went in too early. Still a reckless play and I feel as though he should have gotten a 1 or 2 game suspension as a first time offender in 13 years. Chara does not have a history of being a dirty player, so I honestly do not think that it was full out intent to injure, as I have heard many claim.

I feel bad for Max, here's to hoping he has a speedy and full recovery.

MMA at least has rules and you get can banned if you do something ****ing stupid.
No one suffered an injury like this in the UFC at least.

Still can't believe the decision.

Pretty much this, I'd keep all the star players off the ice, by then we should be locked for playoffs, 2 points wont matter.
