I'm putting the hype machine in this kid.
Shame that its so hard to watch CHL games in Spain.

Is he comparable to Malkin?

I wouldn't say so. Malkins more of a scorer. Mcdavid has amazing awareness which Gino occasionally doesn't show (tries to take on too much)

It's cool to see an NHL star assessing an undrafted prospect of such prominence. Doesn't happen that often. I always wonder to myself what NHL players think of these top undrafted prospects and if they think they will/won't make it one day.

I haven't seen much of this kid, but when I have, lsdkgjnsdk his vision is amazing. He's so far above other kids his age, it's ridiculous.

The Erie game is going to be on Sportsnet One tomorrow night. Anyone else going to be watching? They play London, so it's a good chance to take a look at Domi too. Does anyone have a link/stream to the Windsor/Erie game tonight?

It'll be on NHL Network for those in the states as well. I got my DVR set.

you'll be hard pressed to find CHL games streamed free online online unless theyre on regional/national tv

in other words, you might be in luck tomorrow. still a low chance someone steps up and streams it though.

if you want, it costs about 8 bucks after tax to see the game through the OHL Network. i've done that a few times, and although the quality is poor, the video doesn't cut out/stall.

When I saw they lost 2-1 to the Spitfires, I thought for sure his streak was done. Apparently not, seems to be able to do anything with nothing. Should be fun to watch him tomorrow.

He's following Gretzky's lead. You just start spouting off how great younger players are in the attempt to look humble, but completely fail and end up talking about how good you are by analogy.

"Why, of course I think 7th round pick Eric Smith could be as good as me. He just has to have several seasons where he improves by a really, really large amount and then he'll be there, I'm sure. Hockey players improve every season. I'm sure it could happen."

"Naturally, he would be pretty awesome then, because I'm pretty awesome myself. It would be awesome for him to be this awesome."

The talent evaluation-type comments are great too: "Yes. Yes, it appears that he is good at the hockey. I can see this in the... puck distribution. And of course, all the other parts of the hockey."

Of course he gets jumped for a massive, clean hit.

Might have left his feet a little bit, but it was just on impact.

When a phenom comes up through the ranks, they always ask the last phenom what he thinks because the comparisons will always be made.

Trying to spin this as arrogant self-promotion is pretty weak.

^ Agreed. Crosby has never promoted himself; he simply doesn't need to anyways.

He should be allowed to compare himself to other great players. He is a great player. He is entitled to say he sees his game in somebody else, I don't see why he's barred from doing that just because it will make himself indirectly sound good. What's he supposed to say "Well, McDavid reminds me of myself, not to say that I'm good or anything, just to clarify."

Or you could say "You know, McDavid is pretty great. I watched him play and I could see how good he was." You don't have to bring yourself into it. Crosby did.

"He reminds me of myself." Do you watch yourself play a lot, Crosby? Maybe he watches old videos of himself from time to time, just to reminisce. I mean, we all do that, right? ...right?

Let's not forget Crosby just said "he looks like he's got it all." Does Crosby have it all? I certainly don't think so, but even then, when did statements like that become anything but arrogant? That's a statement that would make even Alex Ovechkin blush...
