I thought he was a LWer. But if he is a center then that might make his chances a little better.

Kducks and I did. We had a blast, especially having all the queens fans cheering Etem start to boo and howl when they realized we picked him. Sweet music filled the room. lol
Big Edmonton group there. I wonder if Winnipeg will have a big group there this year?

Although, the more I hear about short Rocco, the more I kind of want him. He works his ass off and is incredibly talented, plus has that all-important chip on his shoulder (possibly against Jesus himself). I'm not as against it as I was.
I'd like to get him if he's available in the 2nd round for sure, either him or Gibson.

Speaking of which, what are our draft picks?

Grimaldi falling to 53 is about as likely as me sniping a soda can from a mile away with a 9mm

As our gay, errr I mean good friend Justin Beiber would say, never say never. **I apologize if I offended anyone with the previous comment and will take my lashings like a man.**

But I agree it isn't likely to happen, but maybe teams will shy away from him because of the size concerns? I can hope?

If Bob likes him and can't move up it may be smart to move down to gain assets and get the player anyway. I have a strong suspicion he goes before 20, however.

In which case it isn't worth us burning a 1st rounder on him IMO, I'd take him if he was taller, but as a center to be 5'6 .. I dunno

I have a feeling Joel Armia might drop to 20-25...a winger though...would you take him?

Grimaldi's height is the reason why you see his position go like a roller coaster.

Who? Grimaldi? How do you know that? For all we know, he wants to trade up to nab McNeill.

I take Armia in a heartbeat and forget that any other player is available.

I didn't say Grimaldi or any name.. I meant whoever he has his eye on.

I reckon McNeil is a pretty decent possibility...perfect sort of player for us, and could see him going 16 or later which could make it possible for us to move on.

Also how many hours till the draft? I'm horrible with time conversion, 12 hours?

Armia - I hope Ducks don't take him, he has bust written all over him.

Alexei Smirnov part deux.

I don't want anything to do with Armia. I wouldn't mind Grimaldi though, I think he'll be able to overcome his size issues and be a good top 6 forward. This has got to be the worst draft since 2007. It seems like everyone past the first 9 picks will be at most a second liner.

I'm starting to doubt Grimaldi will even be available at 22. His stock is rising, and the mock drafts differ from being very high or very low on him. One GM before us will probably be of the "very high" camp.

Yeah that's my impression too. Not just that, but many are risky to even be that. High risk, relatively low reward.

Just over 10 hours from now.

We pick 22nd, 53rd, 65th (from NYI), 83rd & 143rd.

Cheers for that, 7am is a little early for me, so I shall watch it in the afternoon via hockeystreams hopefully

Some decent laterish picks in the 2nd and 3rd round, wouldn't be surprised if we add a couple more maybe.

Hopefully we get McNeil or Schieffle!

It will be close to 5 am in Finland when Ducks get their turn...I'll probably pass the Midsummer's Eve drinking or at least minimize it. Too much of drinking already on my summer vacation lol.

There were some rumors Winnipeg might tell the team name before their pick...that would be nice.

If Couturier was somehow available at #8 would you guys be willing to trade Palmieri to make the jump? Idk if that would be enough or if Philly would even be interested but to me it's a no brainer... Love what Kyle brings but the Couturier I think is the perfect center behind Getzlaf.. I'd give #22, Palmieri +3rd... I could be way off on the value though.
