Yea i figured Jokinen is young and can be a very good 2nd line RW, def wont get as many pts as Selanne but will get 60pts..

Pitkanen would be a great addition..

Peters becomes the #1 goalie with Ray Emery as the backup..

Rids us of my mistake of getting Turco..

I'm a huge fan of Nicklas Jensen as well and would go as far as saying I prefer him dropping to us rather than Saad.

If you traded Selanne in real life I would find out where you live and force you to listen to Rebecca Black for the rest of your life.

Glad i got some feedback before i went thru with the deal. I declined the offer, Its all about Duck Nation and trading Selanne would be sacrilegious.

I know it sounds crazy but I wouldn't. Even though we would be a huge dynasty I wouldn't be able to enjoy it knowing we sandbagged the greatest player and person our franchise has ever seen, Selanne has done way too much for us and I got to stay loyal. No deal

The cap would get in the way of that one, but for deals like that, I'll admit I would. And it would be the hardest thing I'd ever done as GM and ever would do.

Selanne has been my hero since I was 7 years old, and I cried when he was traded the first time, and again when he signed in Colorado.

If the NHL let me hand pick the Ducks roster in return from trading Teemu anywhere I seriously 100% would not. Teemu is the Ducks franchise and should be honored that way.

The 1st part is exactly how I felt. My hero since about 7 or 8 and I cried when he got traded. And I was 14.

But if the word Crosby is involved in a trade for selanne I'd shoot instantly. And I think selanne would not only understand, but embrace the fact that he was able to improve the team like that. The guy is class. Literally. The word class defines as selanne. Luckily we won't ever had to deal with this scenario.
Although I'd be happy to give up Blake and sutton for Sid

Selanne loves living in Orange County, does not need the money and will not play for anyone other than the Ducks, period.

Yeah let's stop Talking about this and get back into the draft... Did June completely sneak up on anyone else?

So anyways I am kind of hoping we trade down a few spots to get another decent pick this year. I'm loving the prospect depth. Let's just keep the youth rolling in! My cousin (who I see may be joining us here) and I were talking and I'm starting to be convinced on Jenner and Puempel. This is the 1st year where I haven't been set on at least a couple players. The other two I'm just KIND of impressed with.

Not only would I trade Selanne for Crosby+Malkin but I would trade Getz and Perry for Crosby+Malkin, you kidding me? Crosby is THAT good.

Crosby + Ryan > Getz - Perry
Malkin and whoever > Selanne - Koivu

Anyways, I love the Ducks the way they are and dont want to see any of them traded. As far as the draft goes, I have no idea about all of the prospects and would love reading about who we might pick and some info on them.

There's one guy who had serious character/motivation problems. I think it's Saad. I remember one poster really hating him. Maybe rabidranger (it was one of the big USA guys who knew about him from NTDP)? Possibly Woodlief too. To top it all off, I believe he also finished the season poorly, which is the opposite of what the Ducks typically go for. If anything, they'll take a guy who has low points but who finishes strong.

What's up with big Americans this draft? Seems like quite a few were hyped at the beginning of the season, but dropped a lot since.

Dunno aabout regular season finish, but his playoff performance makes me think Saad is no late season choker.

Unless of course, somebody is talking about the original trade to Anaheim.

I wouldn't trade Getzlaf for Malkin, though...

Just imagine, we were 1 spot away from having one of the greatest hockey players of all time play for US. Instead of Pittsburgh getting all of the attention, we would. One can dream....but Bobby Ryan is not a bad consolation prize!
