Preferred Playoff Opponent

EDIT: Disclaimer:

The Sabres have not yet made the playoffs. It is quite possible that they won't. But in this scenario, let's pretend that they do. Let's pretend that we get to hand pick the team Buffalo will play against. Who would you choose? Remember, this is assuming we make it and that it was our choice of who we can play. This scenario doesn't involve missing the playoffs.

Hey Everyone.

IF we end up making the playoffs, I'd say with a high likelihood that we're probably not going to sneak above the 7 spot. So assuming this, we're going to be the 7 or 8 seed. Out of the top five teams in the east, which team do you prefer to play and why?

Yea, a liitle early for this, especially since we don't have a lock on a playoff spot. And can be argued we won't make the playoffs just as well as we will make the playoffs.

He said if. He even capitalized it. It's annoying coming into threads and seeing nothing but people crying about superstitions now.

Tampa Bay would be my number one choice.

Agreed on both points. Believe it or not this thread, nor posting in this thread, determine our place in the standings.

If we're lucky enough to get in, I'll be happy with any team. My expectations are tempered. With the new ownership / management mentality, getting our ***** handed to us in such a way that exposes weaknesses will be valuable to improving down the line. Obviously I want to win, but really - whoever we get is whoever we get. Throw the best at us.

HM: Tampa Bay because of their blueliners.

Bruins - for revenge on last year

or

Lightning - weakest of the bunch IMO

I think the Caps will be firing on all cylinders come playoff time, Pens have our numbers, and Philly is just plain philthy good.

Sports superstition is my own version of Religion. No matter how irrational it is, i still buy into it.

Ditto. I'm not religious and I don't believe in the supernatural. But I believe in sports superstition. The one time I laced my right skate up before my left, I got a concussion, among other things

I will say one team I DO NOT want to face is Washington. That team is making the cup finals this year.

Thank you. Exactly. I come in here asking a pretty simple question, [if] we make the playoffs. I knew there'd be a ton of people that would probably freak out which is why I added IF. This is exactly why I rarely come to these forums any more. It's incredible the amount of people that must sit here all day looking for things to criticize, and to be negative about. I don't care if you have a negative opinion, and quite honestly, if you're not going to participate in the topic of discussion, then just don't say anything at all. I understand that everyone has their opinions about things, and negative opinions have just as much of a right to be posted as positive ones, but wow. This thread has every right to be here.

That being said, I would also agree on Tampa Bay, although I wouldn't mind playing Pittsburgh while they're without a third of their cap space (Crosby and Malkin).

And for those of you that are really upset about this thread being here, and are superstitious about text input to an online forum in certain patterns, please buy me a playoff ticket because I am 18-1-1 at HSBC Arena.
