I used to tolerate his self satisfied smugness, not any more.

What's it going to take for this league to make a change in direction?

Awards:
Maybe David Stern knew what he was doing after all when he recommended this weasel to be the NHL Commissioner.

Well I hope he got a raise (probably did) because it's well deserved. The NHL has never been this good before. 30 financially healthy teams with good 30 strong ownership groups. More national tv coverage than ever before for those billions of dollars. No contraversies concerning his leadership vis-a-vis violence, or obvious bias to some members and their teams, no problems with the refereeing like the Auger thing or the Warren thing. The Buttman and the Colon are doing a great job. They deserve to be elevated to god status. Just make sure they don't diminish the Colon's son chance of getting a Stanley Cup. Don't suspend him for beating an opponent with a piece of equipment, and don't suspend his teammates for obvious criminal assaults. Great job the Buttman, great job, here's another million. And hockey will live on in the desert because there is still a dozen hockey fan in Glendale who can get free tickets to go watch it.

In case there is someone who didn't figure it out, this is as sarcastic I can make it.

"The fans are great, as is the National Hockey League," he said.

"And if they decide they need to do other things with their dollars, that's their prerogative, just like it's the prerogative of our league to make other arrangements if we don't think the fans are giving us the appropriate level of attention."

/sarcasm

At least some people like Gomez..

"One source said the contract extension was unanimously approved by the nine-member executive committee."

That source could have been lying through his teeth. If he refuses to say who he is how is it even possible to know if it was unanimous.. Like I said before, everything about Betman is perfect. every decision is perfect. Everyone is happy! Really? let's see the the GM's say after their meeting on the 14 if everyone is happy...
