Honestly, this feels like some guy from a trailer park won the lottery, bought a mansion and put in a whole bunch of cheap accents like Bud Lite posters and a NASCAR Room. Now a real millionaire has stepped in and is cleaning house. Love it.

Like getting the alumni involved since it IS the 40th anniversary. Also like the "shirts off our back" idea. I know other teams do that, but a great thing to do for the fans and the 20-25 lucky ones that will get a game worn jersey.

Hockey Heaven!

I think it's pretty cool that Monty has obviously taken the effort to somewhat immerse himself in the history of the organization, and doesn't shy away from expressing his opinions.

That's the type of player you want to keep around.

"Somebody asked me the other day, 'What are you going to do, and did you really mean it?' Everything you needed to hear and everything our players and staff needed to hear was said at that press conference. That wasnít just air."

*On getting a Sabres logo on the dressing room carpet: "We decided to do it shortly after the first time we came in here. High school teams have logos. Whereís ours? Itís a source of pride and a source of tradition and myth."

Finally. Ownership that gets it.

I could have sworn prior ownership saying the fans don't know what they want.

Also, we could see fines being implemented for walking on the logo.

In Pittsburgh, employees are fined $50 / occurrence & players are fined $500 / occurrence.

Maybe they should see about selling commercial time in out of Buffalo television markets to someone other than veins veins veins.com...

I recommended that The Refused "New Noise" be the Sabres new entrance song.

I believe some people have suggested getting more "Buffalo fare" into the arena. I think it would be nice for visiting guests to get a taste of our favorite foods inside the arena while giving some additional business to local companies.

The difference between the previous ownership and the current ownership, in a nutshell:

Current ownership:

Quote:
"Our fans just wanted more, which is good," Black said.

The team president made it clear he and the organization are listening to the fans, especially the ones who visit the "suggestion box" on Sabres.com. Fans can leave comments on everything from concourse bathrooms to intermission music to arena wall colors, and more than 1,500 suggestions and complaints poured in during the first week.

"I can personally assure people that I have read every one, and I continue to read them," Black said. "That's what I do the last couple of hours before I leave at night. I've also shared them with Terry and [wife] Kim Pegula.

"Some of the ideas were really interesting, and we want to make changes immediately."
Previous ownership:

That sort of thing used to happen in the Aud too -- you didn't walk on the crest. One anecdote I recall was Korab and Schoeny taking someone to task for walking across it during their first camp with the team. You don't tread on the crest.

That would be sweet, love that song as a pump up song.

Yes yes yes, I've been pounding that drum for a decade! Mighty taco, duffs or anchor bar, lanova or bocce, andersons, sweet tooth, etc.....

I suggested that MSG not mix the crowd out of the broadcast. It makes the game so boring! I love the CBC mixing, the crowd noise really makes the atmosphere so much better at home.

I don't really care about the entry music. I would LOVE to see the organization invest in some high quality, industrial subwoofers. Then, have the following intro sequence:

1.) Lights go out before the team entrance
2.) A low rumbling begins and eventually turns into a loud stampede of wild Buffalo - so loud that the fans can actually FEEL the vibration (if you've ever seen Dances with Wolves you know what I'm talking about).
3.) The lights come on as the team enters the ice to whatever entrance song they choose.

I'd just like to see the team embrace the Buffalo. Not only because it's a representation of our city, but because it's one of the most badass North American animals.

Not a bad song...
Well if we are throwing song ideas around (and why not) for sabres songs ...
Orange 9mm - Sacrifice
Orange 9mm - cutting and draining
Orange 9mm - Seven (as the drums start)

At the drive in - one armed scissors
At the drive in - arcarsenal

Older song but still pretty valid for pump up music... Prodigy - firestarter

Just my 2 cents ....

that's a great idea.....Nothing like getting the team AND the crowd pumped up before a game.....I think that in recent years the crowd at HSBC has been on the quieter side.....We all know what our home record is this year, and that they could use any extra boost they can get.......

I wouldn't mind seeing something similar to this.....It's Virgina Tech's Football Entrance they do before every home game....

ps: what do i have to do so you dont have to click the link to see youtube video ? would rather have video in post...thanks VT
That Virginia Tech entrance is cool. I'd really just like the see the team embrace the image of the Buffalo. It's a symbol of strength, durability, and resilience. On the brink of extinction decades ago, it has rebounded and is thriving. Every Buffalonian should be able to relate to that image.
