Honestly, the arena music needs to be notched down a peg. It's too loud at times and hard to hear yourself think let alone talk to the person next to you. That noise level should be reserved for crowd noise, not music.

Not with that singer, it sounds dreadful.

This link from Sabres.com rehashes TBN article, but it is interesting to see the direct responses from each department head.

http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=555729

Here's one thing that I don't think the article touched on that is pretty cool.

Quote:
Starting with Sunday’s game against Ottawa, the Sabres will distribute “Game Night”, a free game program available to all fans in attendance for each remaining home game this season. This 24 page full-color program will be distributed to fans as they enter the building and will include team rosters, game notes, historical photos, feature stories and more. During the off-season we are going to revisit whether we will keep the “Game Night” format or consider other platforms or program handouts for fans.

I agree no more Sweet Caroline....We need to get original...besides i am a yankees fan and can't stand hearing this..makes me think of the sox

I just put a suggestion in for them to stop copying the Sox with this tune.....GO YANKS ! GO SABRES !!

yea, agree ... if you're gonna blast super loud musicat the arena have it be just an instumental OR have the lyrics be VERY clear so you can sing along, or just enjoy it more cause you know what the band is singing. San Jose and Montreal do a great job with music selection.

this isn't too bad ...

Completely disagree, I've never had an issue carrying on a conversation during the game. If anything, I wouldn't mind ramping it up a notch. There is very little crowd noise after whistles anyways so why not fill that void with some pump up music?

The entire Album "the Shape of Punk to Come" is so prophetic, and influential at the same time. It's on my personal top 50 albums of all time list.

My concern is if they listen too much about the fans suggestions regarding the music part. The taste in music is so different with every individual so if they mix them all up, it will be like a mixed bag. Hopefully they hire someone to work with the arena music instead of some board that will try to make everyone happy.

Just make some basic guidelines like heavy/rock music and some classics. If they can't do it, copy it from different arenas and what sort of music they play.

edit: That's exactly what I fear Jame. With that rate we have Rednex, Pantera, Lady Gaga, Coldplay and some crappy Dubstep playing in the arena. Do not want

I dont really care what they play during the game. as long as there is enough variety, everyone will be happy...

i didn't particularly like the Sabres Powerplay song .... the Dropkick Murphy's, not because the music was bad. It was indecipherable, yuk!

So if they're completely getting rid of the slug, then are they re-doing the 2 slug championship banners?

well, there wasn't as much of a hatred for that logo. there really wasn't any talk of completely ridding of the goathead. I don't care if they change the banners or not, I was just wondering. We did have our original logo as the 3rd jersey those years. So it wouldn't be totally weird to change them IMO.

That hasn't been the powerplay song for the better part of three seasons. I thought Welcome Home was an excellent choice for the power play song. I know the new one is The Damned Things (thank Drew Stafford being Keith Buckley's bro for that one), but I'm none too partial toward it.

Don't de-slug the banners. I'm no slug fan, but... c'mon. We don't want it going forward, sure, but there's no need to wipe it out of history.

I think they should use whatever the primary logo is for that particular season. I have no qualms about the Slug being on those banners, as it was on our chest for some 80 games that year (excluding the 15 times in the regular season and however many playoff games - I think 3 - we wore the throwback)

I think maybe more doable that any consensus on the music that should be played & when, it might be easier to come up with the 'hell no' list of what should be banned from the playlist

If I never hear Cotton Eye Joe again I wouldn't be disappointed
