Wow, I just got home from the game and while I was a little disappointed that the Sharks lost in the SO, this was the best regular season game I had seen in a couple of years and the loudest that the Shark Tank has been for a regular season game for a long time.
Those final 15 minutes of the 3rd and OT had the Tank rocking.
I'm so hoping this is a WCF series because these two teams are so evenly matched it would be epic.
I didn't care about the inconsistent officiating (hey, I could complain about the none high stick call which leads to a 4 on 3 for you guys, and the one with 30 seconds left, oh I was sold on Coutoure too)
it didn't matter because this was the best game I saw this year, and I watch every game..
It was so entertaining that I was impressed and actually "cheered" when Mitchell tied it, it was like congratulating myself on declaring it the game of the year and getting awed at how it got better and better (malhotra on a breakaway shorthanded, wellwood stopped in the s/o etc etc etc) and then when Clowe I wasn't even pissed (did blame Burrows), that 2min 4 on 3 pk was awesome as well

My exact words as Mitchell gathered the puck just before the red line late in the third period were "Dump it in and get off!" That line was seemingly at the end of their shift and it's not like you want them anywhere near the ice when you are trailing by 1 late in the third, not with the firepower that was ready to come on the ice when the Mitchell line went off. Wow, what a goal. I jumped up, but was still completely speechless. What a freakin game.
I have a Nic Wallin avatar request. Would somebody please make me an avatar that displays Wallin's greatness? For those of you that remember the legendary Semenov = pylon = bench avatars, that is the type of thing I am looking for.

Yea, this was the best reg season game since the Campbell Spin-o-rama against the Habs. That game was amazing as well. Back-and-forth scoring which also featured Cheechoo undressing Gorges and Shelley scoring from way out.
I think even more surprising than Mitchell's goal is that a drop pass actually worked for the sharks in the neutral zone. Hopefully this give Mitchell some confidence and he can start getting back to where we though he was going three years ago.
Hey guys, Canucks fan here..just wanted to say great game! In all honesty, you guys totally outplayed us and our goalie was the only reason we were still in it. You guys totally deserved the 2 points, and 9 out of 10 times when you play like that your going to win the game. Your sharks really seemed to have constant drive and determination that you haven't had in past years...something that might make you guys dangerous in the playoffs this season. Good luck!
That was probably the loudest non-playoff San Jose crowd I can recall in the last few seasons. The place was rockin. Real shame they didn't chalk up a W, but alas, can't win em all.
This game was so epic that the Sharks made a tsunami warning off the Coast of Cali... oh wait never mind.
I did like this game. First period not so much but I was like hey the Sharks are skating faster than the Preds game... hmm... what gives? ha ha.
Glad for the point, sucks for the Shoot out but in the last 14 games to go if this much effort is exerted then I feel a little bit better.
But like I said last year (before round 3) I said the road to the cup is through Chicago. This year I picked Vancouver to go all the way. (as much as I don't want that), but one game at a time till playoffs!
