I knew they would get exposed by a good checking team like Canada on small ice which is why I wasn't in favour of taking them for the olympics. Having said that this tourny will be played on proper ice so they should fare much better, I say reunite them and give them a chance to see if they can rekindle some of that magic that they had together a while back.

Another crappy game vs Norway. And another goal for Tarasenko. Hope this kid will find his place in our roster...

More than half of that roster will be replaced by incoming NHLers, Salavat and Atlant players. And it looks like Nabokov won't be the starting goalie.

Obviously I cheer for Canada but I admire the dedication of guys like Kovy and Ovy who always say yes to representing their country.

I wish our guys like Staal and Cam Ward had the same patriotic spirit.

Friendlies have shown that we have a lot of problems with roster, but a few players from NHL can strengthen. This is not enough.

The roster does have potential. Once Tarasenko Panarin and Burmistrov gain some confidence that they can play on this Men's International level, lookout!

Radulov and Kovalchuk will join the Team just after Euro hockey games. Samsonov will not be invited and Filatov isnt good enough to knock on the door of the national team.

After the Sweden game, Rylov looked worse than other D's. We'll see how he'll fare in the upcoming games

I can't imagine him being invited. Plenty of younger defensemen available.

What's the story with Bryzgalov?

Now that Phoenix is out, Bykov should certainly contact him.

Hmmm... Andrei Nazarov left the national team's coaching staff. He may have his reasons, but why inform the media first and not the national team?

Interesting. Why do you think that?

With the year that he had, combined with his excellent chemistry with Radulov and Russia's uncertainty at Center position, I would say Grigorenko has a very good shot.

Radulov is a star and a sure name, but Grigorenko isn't better than anybody else. Bykov won't take a guy who isn't playing in team right now. Zinoviev and Anisimov (I guess Rags won't last long) will be 2 another centers. I think.
