Nope, there won't be a Artyukhin vs. Finland discussion in this thread.

Morozov and Kovalchuk are the best friends in rl. So maybe Bykov let them at last to play together

Happy Burmistrov and Tarasenko made the team.

strange I. Grigorenko didnt make the team, esp he plays for Salavat, and Bykov tends to bring more of his guys even if theres better ones available.
he is injured

Kulemin-Gorovikov-Tarasenko should be a strong defensive line.

I dont really follow the KHL, and I know the player im mentioning is only 18, but why isnt Kuznetsov on the team, especially with Tarasenko on it? Kuznetsov had a better WJC, was the best player in the medal rounds, and had a better second half. Is it just because of age?

Kuz did not have a better WJC and Taresenko was injured during the WJC and missed a fair bit of time in the second half. Kuznetsov's play got so overhyped by the media in the medal rounds it was ridiculous. He was very invisible for most of the games and throughout the tourney. Kuz had some things go his way, the points he got were not a reflection of his play at all. He did have a great second half in the KHL though, no argument there. But bottom line, Tarenenko is just the better player.

Well, I don't know about "had some things go his way." He did make some great plays in the clutch against Finland, Sweden and Canada.

He was inconsistent during the tournament, but when he turned it on, he was great.

I believe he's injured, otherwise, I think he might have made the roster.

Kuznetsov is injured i think, thats the reason, too early to tell who will be the better player imo.

Tarasenko is a year older then Kuznetsov also.

BTW, Kuz is viewed as strictly an offensive player at this point, but I'm actually impressed with his progression in his own zone as well.

As a matter of fact, he looked very good killing penalties for his club in the 2nd half.

Interestingly, there are now only four players left that will have played in every single WC (and Olympics) since Bykov became coach: Kovalchuk, Grebeshkov, Nikulin, and Korneev.

Injuried, too young (18 y.o.) and lack of practice. He didn't take part in play-off. And MHL (youth league) is not an adequate level before WC said Bykov in interviev

LOL.
Kuznetsov's play was terrible at the start, but when the team needed him, he stood out and delivered. This is why great players are great players. And he is an excellent junior player. Hopefully he will do the same with pros. But I agree about Tarasenko, I too prefer him.

Looks like Burmistrov with Kovy and Radulov. It'll be interesting to see him get 1st line minutes, or something close to it.

71 Ilya Kovalchuk (A) - 16 Burmistrov- 47 Alexander Radulov (A)
25 Danis Zaripov - 42 Sergei Zinoviev - 95 Alexei Morozov(C)
49 Yevgeniy Artyukhin - 55 Alexei Kaigorodov - 61 Maxim Afinogenov
41 Nikolai Kulyomin - 21 Konstantin Gorovikov - 91 Vladimir Tarasenko
