I know there's been a lot of speculation about how our defensive corps could look next year. I know that people aren't going to want to bury Gonchar and Kuba as they both have big contracts...but Hale has looked good playing for Ottawa and I believe he's a LD, right?

Phillips - Lee
Cowen - Karlsson
Hale - Rundblad?

Could something like that work? If it would be at all possible to move Gonchar/Kuba during the off-season I wouldn't mind it.

I like Carkner slightly more than Hale, and Carkner is still signed on for one more year.

Kuba & Gonchar are too expensive to just bury, and where Kuba is on his final year of his contract I would rather just let him play it out next season and try to trade him near the deadline when his cap hit won't be much for other teams.

Gonchar and his 5+ M isn't going anywhere either.

Pretty much what RWBG said.

I'd like to see Hale back on a 2-way deal. Maybe beef up his AHL salary to entice/reward him.

Ideally (for me, anyway) both Cowen and Rundblad get ~ 20 games in with Bingo to start the year- so that would mean Hale would at least be up for that stretch.
