The Saturday Salmon Toss at the Saddledome

One mystery solved - it was Canucks fans... two of them who launched the salmon heard round the NHL.

Or maybe as the Kurtenbloggers surmise if you are conspiracy theorist - undercover Flames fans wearing guises (with the goal of, um, making Canucks fans look stupid?)
http://communities.canada.com/thepro...ucks-fans.aspx

Now the next issue - what sort of salmon?

Chinook?
Coho?
Sockeye?
Chum?

Or God forbid - Atlantic farmed salmon. David Suzuki will be outraged.

Here is the video evidence:

Cool. But it would suck to get kicked out with 3 minutes left in a one goal game.

Pretty sure everyone knew it was a Canucks fan. Canucks fans have done this before.

So how about we think of something on our own instead of just ripping off another teams tradition?

Steelers did the towel thing long before us. We didn't invent that.

lol steelers towels were a gimmick though the owner at the time gave em at the game with admission price, canucks was a spontaneous showing of support for the team

Who said it was a Salmon?

That's not even half true. We didn't start the towel power to copy the Steelers in any way at all, it was a spontaneous decision by fans that occured in response to the white "surrender" towel being hoisted on a hockey stick during the playoffs to protest the amount of unfair calls to the refs. The Steelers merely had towels because the owner gave em towels, so they waived em. In Vancouver we as fans brough our own towels, so it's a bit more special.

Do you think Detroit's squid tradition would be special if they were handing out squids on the way into the stadium? Haha..

Wow, tough crowd. It was a fun moment at the game. Atmosphere at the Dome for Nucks games have been amazing this year, in particular. Best part was the mini-standing ovation those guys got in the lower bowl.

I'd maybe understand if it was the playoffs but some old mean smuggling a fish into the Saddledome? Really?

btw. During that afterhours thing, have you seen a worse looking player hallway than that? What was that, old fridges in the hallway?
