Kind of a semi-TFC fan here, watch games when I can but don't get a chance to watch very often, but wow Champions League QF's is very impressive!!! Really stoked to watch them go up against some of the best teams in NA.
Never watched a soccer game in my life! Father however got free tickets to today's game, so a bit excited to see what the environment is like! Gonna' be wearing my Kessel jersey too!
Any one know what TTC stop I have to get off at for BMO field (on the street car)?

Take Streetcar #510 at Union station and get off where everybody else gets off or when you are near the GO station. You will not miss the stop. It is the one after the streetcar does a loop to go back towards Union station.
For once it's nice to end the season with some optimism about next season. Now that we seem to have fixed our offensive woes after 5 years of trying, what to do about our defense? I wonder where/if Cann & Decoy fit in with Winter's plan.
I am very happy with the draw. We have tied LA the last 4 times we played them and they lose Beckham or Donovan. I respect them and still think they are the favourites but the Mexican teams would have been very tough.
Fairly normal interview until the end. de Guzman releases that his brother is leaning towards playing for Canada, he is looking into getting his passport back and that the plan is to push hard for Hoilett to join him and announce their intentions together.
I'm crossing my fingers but those two on the squad makes the World Cup more than a pipe dream.
Those two would be a great boost to Canada's 2014 WC appearance ambitions.
Its the core of a team that I think could become top 3 in CONCACAF. young players with lots of time to grow. Now only to get them to come and help out the club scene too lol
I heard Hoilett is getting transferred to Tottenham though, which he feels may give him the exposure to earn a spot on the English national team, anyone else hear that? I hope that it's not true, because I would become a hater if that's the case. Turning his back on the country he was born and raised him and wants his help so very badly, just for an opportunity at more endorsements.
Hoilett could go down as the greatest Canadian soccer player of all time, I hope he realizes this and decides to come over and make a name for himself here instead of pulling an Owen Hargreaves. Canada would truly be a legit conender to make the WC if we got Hoilett and Johnathan De Guzman.
I have heard he wants to play for Jamaica but had not heard much about his interest in England. Wikipedia does say his Dad wnats him to play for Jamaica because of the endorsement opportunites. He was born in Canada too which would make this a tough loss.
This is a bit off topic but I still can't believe Begovic abandoned us. Screw him. We need a goalie and he would have helped us a lot. It is much harder to qualify for tourneys in Europe too.
Sportsnetworld (new name for Setanta) is on a free preview until January.
I always have high expectations. We will not know until we find out about a few things. We need two good centerbacks, an offensive midfielder, find out if Plata is coming back (I only found out near the end of the year that he is on loan) and we could always use another striker. Will be very interesting to find out who we sign.
Kocic was our starting keeper at the end of the year so there is always a chance Frei does not come back.
good for him, what are our expectations for next year? we played really well the last month or so.
Kind of hard to tell.
Really looked like Winter's system was taking hold towards the end of the season. Frings was a great presence and Koovermans was potting the goals. With Plata probably coming back (not sure if the deal's done), and Deguzman playing better, the potential is there. But they better do something about the back line. Frings played centreback a few games and that's not where he belongs. I know Cann and Williams (I think it was him) had injuries and I'm not sure how well they recovered.
Interesting that Kocic played a lot towards the end of the season. Looks like Frei is not on trial, but is just training with Liverpool. Hopefully that experience will boost his play in the MLS, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Europe some time next season.

Good post. I have hated our defence since the 1st year. I do not trust anybody we currently have to play CB. (Frings is not a CB)
It is getting better and better. Playing on crap fields really played a role and they are going to SSS so that should help things. It was so frustrating to watch a game on artificial turf.
