i would compare valencia with everton or aston villa of the epl
and villareal is 17th place in la liga which is terrible
Really?
I would equate them more with Arsenal or Tottenham but its all just opinion.
Also, to the poster above that I think Inter started terrible but is now back in 5th, above Napoli even. I do agree with your breakdown of Napoli, I also don't think they will keep their stars for long. I can see Cavani, Lavezzi or Hamsik moving on this season if they don't reach CL again.
I think that Shalke was a one hit wonder and German league champs are already eliminated from CL, came last in the group. I like German football, I just don't think the Bundesliga is all that deep.
Spain has good clubs that are overshadowed by Madrid and Barca. If those two clubs were in the EPL, they would make Man Utd and Chelsea look like crap too.

yea i really dont think so,
barca is the best team in the world, madrid not up there yet.

Yeah I agree, Valencia is a great team, soldado, Jonas, Pablo hernandez. These are players that can walk into any team. Not to mention the players they've lost, villa, David silva, Juan Mata. And theyare still a great team.

if Villareal was around tottenham or Arsenal they would have atleast got some points in there group and wouldn't be 17th overall right now, I agree with the guy that said Everton, and just like Everton there having a tough time scoring.
I was actually surprised Cavani stayed this year thought a team like Inter would have picked him up, that would have been better then Forlan.
as for the Bundesliga, I believe Bayern is the 3rd best team in the world(and the only team with a chance to beat Barca) and Dortmund and Leverkusen beat them last year. that would never happen in La Liga even to Valencia. I think Dortmund this year was like a young hockey team in the playoffs the first time, they usually get overwelmed, considering Dortmunds core players are mostly 23 or younger. Leverkusen should have won there group over chelsea all they had to do was beat Genk... and now there gonna learn there lesson the hard way.
Looks like we have our first CB signing. Hopefully we sign another one. Does anybody know anything about him?
Quote:
With training camp three weeks away, it seems Toronto FC are set to bolster their backline with the signing of Chilean Miguel Aceval. The defender turns 28 on Sunday and can play in the centre of defence or on the left.
Aceval has made one appearance with the Chilean national team, playing in a 1-0 defeat against Mexico in an international friendly last September. He has spent most of his career in his native country since beginning in the youth system of Colo Colo.
Toronto FC are yet to comment on the signing of Aceval, but reports from Chile say a deal has been agreed and it is understood paperwork is currently being finalized. If the signing is completed, his arrival would help strengthen a defence that conceded a league and franchise-worst 59 goals in 2011.
The MLS draft is today. There are two really good prospects but they will both be most likely going to Montreal and Vancouver because they have the top 2 picks. Toronto has the 4th and 12th picks but it sounds like we will be trading the 12th pick. I tend not to take the draft too seriously because we have not been that successful with it. We have got Edu, Frei and Plata out of it though so hopefully we can pick up a good player this year too.
I agree so hopefully the academy will start to produce some really good players for us. We chose Luis Silva with our first pick. He played in a small school but put up the 3rd most points in the country. He will probably play in front of De Guzman and Frings if he is as good as people think.
anyone who thinks la liga is better than bundesliga is delusional, it's like a higher end version of the SPL
La Liga is better than bundesliga hell French ligue 1 is better than the bundesliga, the champions league will tell you all you need to know I think serie a is the 3rd best league.
Madrid > bayern
Barcelona > schalke
Valencia > dortmund
Bayern are weak mentally look at them in the cl final or the group stage game vs napoli where they started to crumble defensively, still eeked out a win though. Robben is too injury prone and bayerns defensive line is laughable, with guys like Badstuber

You just pretty much proved that you don't know much about the Bundesliga.
And just comparing the top 3 teams (you failed at that as well) completely misses the point.

I understand there is great parity in Germany and the bundesliga is a tremendous financial success I still don't think its above la Liga though

sry but Valencia is not better then Dortmund, Valencia would not have been able to beat Bayern last year like Dortmund and Leverkusen did. also you failed to even mention that Leverkusen was in Valencia's group in CL this year and made it out of the group where Valencia failed to do so. Dortmund's bad CL this year imo is a product of a young team similar to that of a young hockey team heading into the Playoffs they don't fair well there first time. Dortmund's core are mostly all 23 or younger they will be a good team in the future assuming they can keep those youngsters.
second divisions say a lot about first division strength as well. it's not a coincidence that england also has the best second division in the world.
bundesliga 2 teams would shred segunda división opponents.
