Julian De Guzman appears to be on the way out. People are saying Dallas is where he is headed.

I'm hearing that his DP slot could be filled by Del Piero or Kevin McKenna.

Dont bet on it. Knowing the "skill" of this FO, they will bring in someone who is worse.

Thanks. Never had a problem with his play, but I've always felt his DP slot should have been spent elsewhere. Good luck to him.

A buddy of mine is a beat writer for TFC, has a lot of connections with MLS and TFC related sources. He broke the De Guzman trade to me hours before it went public, and immediately said they are now looking at McKenna or Del Piero as potential replacement DPs. Very preliminary talks, nothing imminent, he just put it out there.

I come in peace,

sorry Del Piero is reserved to montreal, he is a true D.P. (kidding...), wouldnt you guys think Ballack would fit well with Frings and Koevermans? btw, Ballack would fit our (montreal) needs but i dont feel its gonna work out

Ballack would be great, he's younger than Del Piero too. But TFC's biggest issue is at central defense. If they can shed some more salary here and there (Aceval's 6 figure salary will be freed up soon), then I would love to see us sign both McKenna and Bocanegra (also rumored to be linked to TFC as contract is up and Rangers will not be playing in the SPL this year due to some sort of punishment) and have probably the strongest back-line in the MLS.

Well Tfc needs to do something if they have a chance in Champions league this year. Cann and JDG Are just big Names and never Fit with the team.

We're getting Olof Mellberg. A strong solid Swedish International central defender who just played in Euro 2012 and even scored against England if some of you might recall. Here's his summary, this guy will be great for us. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olof_Mellberg

Hopefully he is not a DP though and we have enough money to fit him under the cap w/o the DP. But even if we do give him DP money, I won't be surprised, he's still in his prime.

He was linked to Everton in June. Makes me think he will be a DP. I really wanted a good central defender in the off-season so I would be very happy with this signing.

De Guzman was a great signing when we got him and Cann was never a big name. I do not think people even have an opinion of him one way or the other.

well what i like about your team is that you get slightly younger players.. a player like him could easily play 3 years for you guys without having his body fall apart lol.

i really like what impact are doing but we surely are getting 1-2 years MAX players.. if we get nesta, del piero and divaio, its more likely than anything, that 1 or 2 players might not make it to next year... wich could hurt the team devellopement... even if your team as lackluster seasons (sorry but its true.) your DP arent the problem.. (one by one at least)

Only $350,000 of his salary counts against the cap. After that you can spend as much as MLS will let you and it does not affect the cap.

MLS does not want anyone to make more than Henry or Beckham. That is all I mean when I say MLS has to allow you to give him what you want.
