is this an April Fool's joke? Did TFC trade DeRo??
but but but --- his ads in the subway!
Those can stay... I mean, I'm still seeing Georges Laraques ads in the subway and he not only never played for the Leafs, but has been retired for a year.
I think its more tfc at fault than De ro, he could have became a dp with houston but opted to come to toronto. He was told that he would be a dp with tfc but they reneged on it last minute. What a loss for tfc
That's DeRo's side of the story, which frankly, I'm more inclined to believe then MLSE's. This kind of stuff seems right down their alley.

It's easy to think that when you have a one-sided article like the one you posted.
But, it's the Sun, so what more would you expect than them trying to make a buck by throwing mud at MLSE.
In this case, they're blaming the club for the decisions of a management regime that has already been sacked, but the name Mo Johnston can be found nowhere in this entire story.
A lot of people are willing to overlook these kinds of details because they've already decided MLSE can do no good.
I know TFC doesn't have all that much cash left to spend under the cap but if NY can get henry and LA can get Beckham I think it fitting that TFC get a player like Drogba since we have a market comparable to those two cities and a need to do something to change the course of things here.
And to the poster above, Drogba is the real deal. One of the best pure strikers in football when on form and Torres going to Chelsea was something that did not sit well with him
dude Salery cap tfc got rid of deros salery and gave it to new york. They have enough space for one players to get max money. so its intresting. this is 4 days aftr they got rid of dero.

Listening to the Fan today, they were discussing TFC's cap situation and eluded that there was a more complicated situation there and that Dero leaving opened up money but not as much as at first glance. I don't know, I am as well versed in MLS salary rules and the TFC situation on that front.
I'll take your word for it though and hope it happens
Considering though that I cannot find the story on Sportsnet website or hear any rumblings over in the biggest Soccer forum out there, I have my doubts. I saw the story on the ticker but I have seen bogus soccer rumours on the ticker on Sportsnet before that I have never found anywhere else

I didnt like this move either.
I can not watch Torres, he is either complaining or hurt.

Couldn't agree more. Toronto is a world class, multicultural city. Could certainly attract a Didier Drogba.
And man oh man, if we got him, I'd be alllllll over TFC games... we'd be an absolute force.
would be sick for TFC to get Drogba great player, and I'm waiting for MLSE to flex there muscle with the money they have and get a guy like Beckham/Henry and bring him to the FC. but didn't realize there was a cap for the MLS so I guess anyone could. btw if there is a cap how does LA fit Beckham's 40-50 mill under the cap?

I don't know about that. The MLS cap is around 2-3 million per season
Basically each team can sign one player who does not count towards the cap
I'm pretty sure last year they changed it so that each club can have up to two designated players. We already have one spot taken up by de Guzman leaving us the option of a second. Also for each DP $335,000 is charged against the cap. I could be off on some of this so anyone feel free to correct me.
