Friday's poor effort at Anaheim was exactly the reason I wrote this story...

That wasn't a poor effort. That was a team that played hard but is lacking offense with it's 2 top scorers out.

People are using this excuse too much for the lack of offense. Murray has lacked offense since he was hired.

The Kings are now losing because they lost there most skilled possession players. The reason Williams has turnovers is because he has possession of the puck more than most on the Kings and try's to create plays.

I wasn't using it as an excuse. I pretty much meant it as you put it.

I disagree. They were careless with the puck and their defensive coverage was poor. Under the circumstances, I believe their focus wasn't where it needed to be after clinching the other night.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Their focus better be there tonight. We'll find out just what kind of coach this Terry Murray is tonight. This is a playoff game versus our most hated rival. Nothing more to say than that.

They lost 2-1 on the road for their opponent's season closer.

They shut down Getzlaf, Perry(leading goal scorer in the NHL), Ryan

The only Duck that managed to put biscuits in the basket was Teemu and what can you really say? The guy is 40 and has 31 goals.

The only thing the Kings didn't have was offense. They gotta find ways to generate goals. Right now they have no pure goal scorers.

From the article:

If the Kings lose and drop below fifth place, they will ensure themselves a very quick exit from the first round of the playoffs, and yet another summer that is way too long.
I better keep my mouth shut because the words I have in response to this may get me banned.
