Yeah, that kind of BS should get him 4 games just for the intent alone.

Cheap shot and totally unnecessary. I think the instigator rule really needs to go. A lot of that crap would stop if a guy like Kunitz had to answer for that to a team's enforcer.

I absolutely agree.

4 games is generous. The NHL, which we all know is a joke when it comes to these sort of things has yet to send a consistent stand on the whole head hunting situation.

If that isn't worth 4 games then everyone might as well swing for the fences against each others talented players, if it isn't gonna cost you or your team why not give it a go?

I was hoping someone would YouTube another Jack Edwards moment from last night's game. Sure enough, the internet comes through.

Wow, I can understand being pissed about a dive, but where is the professionalism in that? I couldn't even tell IF he dived tbh, and aren't announcers supposed to be a little unbiased? Someone is a little upset about his team dropping 2 at home I guess. Still, you're hired to do a job, not be a d-bag.

1 game for each incident last night? You have to be kidding me.

How does Bobby Ryan get two while the other get one?

yeah, that's major major ********. even under the "but they're playoff games" mantra that's ********. with downie getting 20 games in 2007, and kunitz's elbow being COMPLETELY and TOTALLY intentional, that is insane.

whatever, though. not like it's surprising.

Is that the call Brickley ended up apologizing about?

I don't mind some homerism by the hometown broadcasters, although I'd prefer a much more neutral duo like we have. That said, guys like Edwards just take it way too over-the-top where it's embarrassing. It's a great way for NESN to bring in the casual, pro-Boston fan for ratings but it's a terrible way to educate that casual fan so that they become a knowledgeable, permanent hockey fan. If they do indeed become a permanent fan, it's the variety that believes their team has never committed a penalty, the NHL has a conspiracy against their team, etc.

Only one game for Kunitz? That's just wrong. Here is a guy that is intentionally trying to injure another player and all he gets is a game. Ridiculous. He should have got like 5 games, and if it was the regular season he should have received a 10 game suspension. There is no place in the league for head hunting with elbows.

Hopefully those series are 2-2, 2-2, 2-2 and 3-1 respectively. That'd make for a truly glorious day, indeed!

As long as the Boston game doesn't go into OT, then I'm fine with it. Otherwise, **** you Boston!

5-1 Hawks.

Still think Vancouver closes it out in 5.

This game is taking too long. Might miss the start of the LA game. Hopefully, the pre game will take some extra time in LA.

It's 5-1 Hawks and Hossa, Sharp, Kane and Toews have 1 assist combined.

Is Bolland the most important Hawks player? 1 goal and 3 assists.

Vancouver are getting it handed to them 7-1, so they are resorting to jumping Hawks players and ambushing them lol.

If you want to fight a guy, go ahead, but don't jump him from behind and throw half a dozen punches before he even knows what's up. Cowards way out.

No broken necks, but the Vancouver player just jumped him and started punching away. There is a difference between a fight and 'jumping' someone, and this was the latter.

I don't know, it was #3 on the canucks. I don't follow them and didn't get a name. He got checked, raced down the ice and just jumped all over the guy who did it.

One thing that would help remove the sting from last night is a Ducks loss tonight.

I'm not sure why there were only 2 games last night and now 5 tonight, but it'll be fun-filled night of hockey nonetheless.

Will there be more goals scored tonight or last night?
