8/28 have looked terrible together this year and MoJo was creating space for Ovy. It could be another case of knee-jerk managing; unless Boudreau really doesn't like Brooks centering Semin for some reason.

If the Caps can pull 3 pts out of their next 3 games=success.

Agreed. 6 points is fine. Would put the Caps at 96 points with 6 games left.

I'd lock Arnott in one of those hyperbaric chambers that Terrel Owens slept in that year he was an Eagle and they went to the super bowl. He had some awful injury just weeks before and he was quoted as being out for months and somehow made it back in a few weeks. It's supposed to help expedite recovery from injuries ... not sure if that's specific to bone breaks but hell .... might as well.

Montreal fans could be expected to be in a weird mood tonight, first night since the Chara nastiness, I don't think they'll stand up for any opposing player trying to goon up our squad, not tonight anyway.

I can't predict who'll win cuz I don't know what the Caps are doing this year but given that the home team has the advantage, I'd go with the Habs in an evenly-matched game.

i love Montreal fan's dedication, even when its outlet is really quite lame with this "protest" - i expect a belligerent crowd, perhaps a few things thrown on the ice if anything goes against the Habs at all, and in general an exciting game.

my wishlist for tonite includes PK Subban getting absolutely pwnd and Mojo getting a goal.

BB for Hart.

It's our longest winning streak of the season and we're headed to Montreal without our top 2 centers and without our #1 and #4 d-man, and arguably our #3 goalie in net. This should be a montreal win, just like last year.

That makes no sense. Sunday's line up if I'm not mistaken had 8-90-22 skating. The second line was 18-44-28 with the 3rd line being 25-21-16. If you want to move a "big" body to Center on the 2nd line to replace Arnott, then just push all the centers up one slot on the lines, thus Laich centers the 2nd, Gordon the 3rd and Beagle the 4th. Agree with you on the chemistry between Johannson and Knuble but believe Ovechkin has had it as well with those two. As matter of fact thought that all the lines on Sunday appeared to be meshing well. BB's tinkering too much with the lines and unnecessarily imho.

Anyone else wish Arnott was around during 24/7?

I'm not terribly ambivalent about this one. The Caps are going to get crushed. They're shorthanded and the Habs are on the warpath, for reasons that had nothing to do with the Caps (until Boudreau opened his pie hole this morning).

the last time they got crushed, they went on a rampage, so maybe a good crushing will help them in the long run.

I'm going to fanboy it up. We're gonna win. Yeah they're shorthanded but either Russian winger is capable of beating an entire team when they're motivated. And I have to believe they are motivated for this matchup.

Enjoy your prostate, crabs.

This road trip would be a nice time for the old "carry the Caps on your back" Ovie to step up.

Love the enthusiasm! Hope it bodes well, but I'm worried about the lack of center depth. Agree that if there were a time for Ovechkin to go nuts, this is it. They appreciate that kind of show in Montreal, and he tends to get up for those games.

I still donít agree with the decision to start Holtby tonight, but some random info.:

Varlamovís first start was at Montreal, a 2-1 win with the GWG by Nylander assisted by Giroux and Kozlov

Neuvirthís first start in í09-10 was at Montreal, a 3-2 loss; pretty sure it was only his 4th ever NHL start

I think Holtby has actually reached double digits in terms of his NHL starts before appearing in net in Montreal.

Go Caps!

I'm reminded of the line that Dean Martin had about Frank Sinatra, "It's Frank Sinatra's world, we just live in it". Well when it comes to hockey, I think that's the way many Montreal Canadiens fans view other teams and their fan base, hockey is the Montreal Canadiens.

New York Yankee fans share a similar point of view.

caps have won 8 straight. they are due to lose. arnott and backs out of the lineup will have their backs all bowed up. so...maybe they win. hendricks is going to runover the goalie. holtby stands on his head. caps win.

next night in detroit, neuvy gets torched which is probably worse.
