The Sabres have set up a Suggestion Box where you can make suggestions to the team about things like Game Presentation, the Arena, etc. This was being discussed a bit in this thread, but I thought it would be a good idea to start another thread so more people would know about it.
My suggestion is going in the form of a letter to Ted Black. I'm going to attempt to get my foot in the door for the public address announcer position.
With me, there will be none of that "Now, let's play some hockey!" crap.
EDIT: Before I hear "You don't have a chance"; "There's no way you'll get in there", et cetera . . . . well, I won't know until I ask, right?
Despite being a Habs fan, I'm also a large supporter of the Sabres; and as a subscriber to the Sabres mailing list, I must say that this project is really interesting and it's great that the fans are being heard.
I sent in that they should have a 'shirt of their back' night like a lot of teams do.
I also suggested that if there is a way to do it cancel the season tickets of known brokers who buy 8+ seat blocks and either sell them to fans on the waiting list or just sell them to the general public. It chaffs my ass that I was a season ticket holder in a half empty building pre lockout and now I can't get them.
I lived out of town for a few years and now I'm wait-listed.
I've suggested modifying the PITP (more screens, different layout for less congestion), changing the TICKETS and SABRES STORE signage in the lobby to finally reflect the current branding, and a whole slew of crap regarding the Bandits.
I threw a suggestion at them today, will do another tomorrow. Some ideas I have read on the sabres website are very good, and easy to implement. Keep filling the inbox with good ideas! Don't be a knob and suggest trades and rail on Players, that goes in the trash.
more cameras, more in depth analysis with videos on tap, pp cam, etc.
more so geared toward the tv viewer than the arena guest .. lets face it, we got full time HD this year.. theres some things we can improve. itd be nice to compete with the quality of national broadcasts
the khl has floating cameras like the nfl uses.. love it for the moments "in between whistles" when the camera usually just focuses on a player blowing snot rockets or some clueless fan.
broadcasts are static and bland. spice em up ted!

I asked if they could get original and not copy the Red Sox by playing Sweet Caroline
I dont understand why everyone thinks the Red Sox own this song.
Define Irony: Neil Diamond was born and raised in New York City, the Bronx I believe.
I suggested they get rid of the current forward lines and d pairing graphics. I liked the old full screen graphic presenting the lines chart. I dont like having to stop watching the play to look at the lines beneath the scoreboard and it's easily missed.
I suggested that in the off season they look into the piping and refrigeration system. Having skated at HSBC I can say that sometimes the ice doesn't even rate up against the ice at Brighton or Lincoln here in Tonawanda.
Having spoken to a few of the players, they've agreed that the ice is not very good here. We're cold enough that our ice should be one of the best in the league.

I suggested this as well. This one seems like a no brainer and I bet it happens.

I know the Red Sox don't own it....But they turned it into one of "their" ball park tunes....
No need for us to copy them....Plus I'm sure I am not the only Yankee fan that doesn't want to hear it.....They don't play that song at Yankee Stadium now do they? hmmm.
No need to play it in HSBC. There are enough songs out there, that they can figure out something else to play.

I've always heard that it's hard to get good ice at HSBC b/c of the humidity so close to the harbor. I don't know if that's just an excuse they made up though.
I also am highly peeved about NHL Center Ice hardly ever showing Sabres games in HD! WHAT THE EFF! I pay hundreds of dollars and hardly anything is in HD?!
