I'm surprised there isn't a thread about this. Does this change the way people look at Philly's playoff chances?

Philly's pretty much a lock for the playoffs...or are you talking about playoffs chances as in performances. He'll be back soon enough for the first round I believe.

Similar circumstances to the Hawks last year with Campbell. Hawks may have been toast if Soupy didn't come back halfway through the 1st round. This is an opportunity for the right team to take them out in the 1st round.

Yeah, I'm talking about Pronger possibly missing some of the first round and taking some playoff games to get back up to speed. This is a devastating injury.

I believe they'll be ok. In my opinion the first round will be easy enough for Philly to end in 4-5 games even without Pronger. He'll have plenty of time to get back to his usual speed. Old man is getting pretty old though.

There's 4 dangerous goalies in the race for one of the bottom spots. Take Pronger out and give those teams a chance to get a few more goals and it could be a disaster. Let's not forget about the upsets last year.

Isn't this like his third(?) major injury this season?

Roloson. Hurricanes aren't in the bottom 4 playoffs teams.

More than anything, I think it'll likely cost the Flyers #1 seed (though I thought they were likely to lose it to Washington regardless with how well the caps are playing).

Was the Flyers' record without Pronger earlier this season really that much worse than with him?

Was this just a freak accident or is his body starting to break down quickly? Most bigger players start to break down very rapidly.

Pronger has missed 10 or more games in a season due to injury 7 times, so it's safe to say he's at least somewhat injury-prone.

the other 5 defensemen just need to throw in an extra 5 cross checks per game and they'll be fine.

It's a broken bone, nobody can seriously claim that it's anything to do with being injury prone? It'll heal, he'll be back with a week or so to go before the end of the season and the Flyers will have a fully fit Pronger ready to go for the play-offs.

A knackered Pronger is what hurt us in the end last year.

He had surgery and is out 3-4 weeks. He's not going to be playing in games in 2 weeks.

It's actually the slight fracture on his right hand and not his wrist. It is not from being injury prone, it's from being hit blocking pucks. He broke his foot blocking a puck and also had a slight break in his right hand blocking a puck. Does anyone really watch the games here or do you just assume?

Hit in the hand with a slap shot. It was just bad luck.
