Actually if the injury to Pleks is not a serious one, something where he'll miss only a week or two then it might be a good thing.

He's always been fatigued going into the playoffs and you know Martin would not give him any time off so a minor injury might be a blessing in disguise.

Trying to look for silver linings.

Why would you expect Cammy to come out flying the guy has always needed time to get his groove back after injury he did the same thing last year

If Pleks is out next game I'd like to see Cammy tried out with Eller and Kost I think that line would be sick.
I rather not see Cammy with A.K.

If Cammy is on the ice with them, Eller and A.K can't do their littel passes and all, Cammy will always want the puck.

And second, Cammy will become the shooter, forcing A.K to get the pucks in the corner... which he isnt good at...

I rather see this:

Cammy - Desharnais - Pouliot
Gionta - Gomez - White
A.K - Eller - Palushaj
Pyatt - ??? - Moen

I don't mind those. I'd probably switch Palushaj & White though. Engqvist is a no doubters for the 4th line centre.

You forgot his trademark no angle shots in the goalie's chest, too. NYR fans complained about these things when they had him. It's good to see he hasn't tried to change his tactics since. They had a stat that in the top 50 shot takers in the league he had the lowest goals scored % or something like that. Yet he took more shots than almost all of them.

Cammy with Eller and AK at least he would have 2 big players that can get him the puck, having to match up Desharnais and Pouliot against top lines is a nightmare.

Cammy-Eller-Ak
Moen-Gomez-Gio
Pyatt-Desharnais-Pouliot
White-Engqvist-Palushaj

Plekanec and Halpern are under that but still close to 200lbs. They suffered their injuries this season.

Size has nothing to do with our injuries. Martin St-Louis is short yet rarely injured. Plekanec has never been injured before this season. Lecavalier on the other hand was constantly injured.
You can get injured on the first hit of the year you receive, no matter if you're big or small. Just like you can go a huge number of games without any injuries, no matter the size.

Let's stop talking as if size is the cure for aids.
You just can't grasp what I'm preaching, so I'll save it.

But like I mentionned, placing A.K and Cammy toghter will force A.K to get the pucks in teh corner and then crash the net... and we all know A.K isnt that type of player. He likes to setup plays, take good shots... he doesnt want to be in front of the net...

Considering the injuries we had all year, this team should hardly be in the playoff picture, we should be with the Leafs, Canes and NJD trying to fight for the 8th spot. Yet here we are, in a relatively secure position for a playoff spot.

I'm not saying we'll win a round for sure, but have a little more faith!

Plekanec was amazing for us last playoffs.
People tend to look at production, but he was told by Martin to focus more on defending. This was made public so you can find some quotes from Plekanec or Martin talking about it.
If Plek was fatigued last playoff, we would have exited before. He had the role to constantly shutdown the opposition's best players.

I had no illusions that the Habs were better than the Caps but Price kept it close with some great saves. The only other Hab highlight was AKost's goal, reminiscent of a Kovalev rifle shot. The Habs have to hold on to him. Cammalleri has lost his magic and is a liability otherwise. Gomez is beyond redemption, a white elephant who's too expensive even to give away for nothing in return.

More injuries!?

Woah there.

Spacek should be back for the playoffs.

Sopel has been out for a week with a broken hand. Technically he should be back in 2-3 weeks.

Plekanec and Halpern are day to day and should not miss significant time.

Darche has a groin injury and could be back soon.

I still have faith.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't like Jacques Martin hockey. But right now we're system>team and it's working.

Gomez and gionta need to fkn step up, Cammy needs to open up, etc. Yeah, we're built on our amazing goalie and pp, deal with it.

Call me an optimist, but once we get back the small handful of guys that are only out short-term (Halpern, Plekanec, Sopel), and when the proven playoff performers step up their games (Gomez, Gionta, Cammalleri), I fully expect us to go to at least the 2nd round, depending on the matchup.
