of course thats only if we win...gotta take care of our business first.

Speaking of the ole ole, I absolutely LOVED it when we started mocking them with that on Friday
when you have a fanbase that large, you're bound to have some bad seeds, even the rangers fanbase does and there is no denying that.
however, I have no problem with fans that have an undying passion for their team like the montreal fans do. seeing the building explode last year as they were beating pittsburgh in the 2nd round was something else. can only imagine what its like in person.
while most will argue that the people of montreal overreacted with the chara/max pac incident and the fallout with the no suspension from the nhl, I would have been super super super pissed if callahan/dubinsky/any ranger was on the receiving end of that hit and no suspension was handed out.. maxpac is the best offensive prospect to come through the montreal system in quite awhile, it would be a shame to see his career derailed by a stupid dangerous play on charas part, but thats another argument for another day

This.

I'm not the kind of guy who has favorite players on other teams, but Teemu is one of my favorite players of all time and it's nuts to see him play the way he does at 40.

Same here. I respect players on other teams, but I very rarely "like" a non-Rangers player or get excited to see them succeed. Nicky Lidstrom is one them. Ronnie Francis. Selanne is definitely one. Supremely talented and just plays the game the right way. I love him.

another player who is also over 40 who i always wanted on the rangers and is also playing well is Marc Recchi. it stinks that he is a boston bruin but im sure he will be with the hall of fame when its all said and done.

Rangers magic number is 15.

It was 19 on Friday. Newsday broke down the numbers. This is from Friday before the Montreal game.

Quote:
With the Rangers' win on Tuesday and Carolina's loss on Wednesday, the Rangers opened up a little breathing room in their chase for a playoff berth. Their magic number is down to 19. That is the number of points that would guarantee them a postseason spot, regardless of tiebreakers.

With 11 games left, the Rangers could guarantee themselves a playoff spot by going 9-1-1 or 8-0-3 the rest of the way. Of course, the magic number also decreases every time the ninth-place team loses.
http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey...mber-1.2768121

Rangers have two huge games this week at home against two non-playoff teams. No excuses. 4 points. Florida and Ottawa play hard but the Rangers need 4 points before they play Boston,Philly,Buffalo and the Islanders on the road.

This needs to be posted in the GDT for every game. Remind everyone our team philosophy and what this team is about. That even in this playoff push, we shouldn't become angered at every mistake. We're going to lose at some point and people are going to complain, just show them this and hopefully they'll understand.

It would sure be nice to keep the streak going. 6-3 the rest of the way pretty much ensures a spot with 94 pts. 5-4 will probably also be enough with 92. Assuming Carolina wins their game in hand they are at 78 points. They will need to go 7-2 in their final 9 to end up with 92 or 8-1 for 94. Anyway, wins over Florida and Ottawa would really go a long way to solidifying things.

These 2 games against Florida and Ottawa should be 4 points. And when Rangers face Atlanta and New Jersey in april in the last 2 games those teams are probably out of a race for playoffs. So they can be unmotivated when they face Rangers then. And they will also run over Islanders once more.

I predict 7-1-1 in the last 9 games and 15 points. 97 totally and 6 th. place. Come on, I am not unrealistic here. They have alot of selfconfidence now after smashing big teams lately.

Love that video, for two reasons...

1) because it reminds me to be patient, that pieces are coming together, that the future is bright.

2) I'm in it!

Oh yes, fear my celebrity status

We can't beat trap teams for some reason, we can't even change change strategy during the game to make something happen...

I hate Monday nights because they're typically Versus exclusive nights which means a light schedule which than means there's most likely no games impacting us. Pit - Det should be a good game but still, better to watch games that impact us in the standings.

Pens score to make it 4-0. Howard pulled.

Edit - Wings score. Now 4-1.

So Pitt has outscored opponents in the last 3 games 14-3 thus far (not including our game). And we won 5-2.
