I think I'd do it too, from the Sharks POV. Maybe J Bo would regain his scoring touch in teal, and we'd also gain some 0.7 in cap space. However, we don't have any top notch scoring prospects to fill that gap, and I really doubt Heatley would waive his NTC to go to Calgary.

I believe Jay Bo would excel in San Jose. He has never truly adapted to the defensive system Calgary runs, at least not in comparison to his Florida days. Likewise, Calgary could use an upgrade on scoring. It would be a fairly decent hockey trade however I cannot imagine Heatley would agree. Hell, the guy would whine about Canada being too hard on him.

Frankly, I would be elated since I like Jay Bo but hate Heater.

Dany Heatley trades San Jose to Ryan Smyth in exchange for Los Angeles.

Girardi, Wolski, Hagelin and the NYR 2011 2nd rounder

Salary is off-set between Girardi and Wolski (combined 7+ million)

thoughts?

I agree wholeheartedly with the poster that says he has negative value. And before any SJ fans come in with the 'Heatley hate' comments, look at the facts :

- declining goal totals 3 years running (on pace for only 26 G and about 70 points this year)
- not good defensively
- slow
- weak on the puck
- horrendous, long-term contract
- disappears when it counts
- can't play through pain
- doesn't make anyone around him any better
- headcase
- 2 trade demands in the last few years
- etc.

The only way you MAY get rid of him is to package something good with him, and take a slightly smaller dump back, or trade him for an equally bad contract. Even if he wasn't declining (and he most definitely is, hardcore), having that contract on your cap handicaps you everywhere else.

We know he likes NY... Heatley for Redden.

Why are Sens fans still obsessed with trying to prove Heatley is useless? We all know he is. Very few Sharks fans still defend him or the trade that brought him here.

He replied in a Value of: Dany Heatley thread with several legitimate reasons why Heatley doesn't have a lot of trade value. Not sure how it's trying to prove Heatley's just because he's a Sens fan.

Fair enough, I was mostly responding to the "before SJ fans come in here with 'Heatley hate' comments" part of his post.

I apologize if you took offence to that, none was intended. The reason I included that is, quite simply, because whenever I post an honest opinion about Heatley's on-ice performance (or, more accurately, lack of performance), there are several SJ fans that come in with 'jilted lover' type comments. *shudder* By no means did I mean offence to those reasonable SJ fans.

Done. I'd prefer Heatley for Bouchard straight up but if you have to throw Barker in there then fine.

Heatley has an NMC and he's not going anywhere. A value thread on Heatley is useless.

He is from Calgary, my elementary school gym teacher taught him. I think he would come here.

i offer Stoll + 1st rounder 2011 but am to lazy to check the salary situation.

Penner - Kopitar - Williams
Heatley - Loktionov - Brown
Parse - Schenn - Simmonds
Clifford - Lewis - Richardson

that isn't looking to shabby

It shouldnt be up in the air, a beat writer in SJ said he no longer had it but never was able to say why he no longer had it and I think he simply misunderstood the rule. It is 99% certain that his NMC is in effect.
