Tampa Bay will not sign Bzygalov, they also have to sign Stamkos to as he is an RFA

He owes Burkie a favor!!!!! Burkie the one that granted his request to be put on waivers for opportunity elsewhere. He made what at the time???? Sub 1 million as a backup to Giguere!!!!!

Burkie will play that card and ask him to come to Toronto at a discount and he will get him. You watch.

Bryzgolov is on record in the past stating that he owes Brian Burke for allowing his career to progress. I read that on some site before...sorry no link.

But mark my words....3 yrs at 4.25 a year.

Remember Burkie's words....firm believer that you need to build from net out. He never has brought in anyone other then Giggy..with that ship sailed how sweet would it be to bring in Bryzgolov to replace a guy that made him expendable before!!

Ignorant post of the day goes to you.

Re-signing Stamkos is not going to put us in any sort of cap hell. Why is that so hard to understand? We have enough room we could re-sign Stamkos for 6 per or MORE AND grab Vokoun/Bryz if Yzerman wants to.

Gagne is off the books this year and just like that 5 million is off the cap. A few other players such as Jones, Smith, Roloson (who might re-sign for a 1 year deal around 2 mil or so) come off the books too.. We traded Ellis so there goes another 1.5 off the books for next year.

All it takes is a quick look at capgeek for christ's sake.

I think if Phoenix was smart, they would re-sign him.

IMO IF Bryz doesnt resign in Phoenix, he is SFY's absolute main target. He is still a great age (30), an absolute number 1 goaltender, and has all the ability to win games for you without much help.

The guy is exactly what TB needs moving forward and should be signed for something around a 3-4 year deal worth around 4-5M per year. I would be ecstatic is this is what happened in the offseason for us. Would FINALLY solidify the position that has been a roller coaster since the lockout.

We should have just taken Bryzgalov for the late late pick that Burke originally wanted from us before he just waived him. Thanks Feaster and Davidson...hmph.

I'd guess he gets AT LEAST $5mill, and probably closer or upwards of $6mill

If he makes it to UFA I'm hoping the Avs throw a deal for 4-6/year for 4-5 years in front of him.

I coild see that Let Reimer learn behind a top 1- goalie for 3 years then let him compete for the #1 jov full time at 25-26

Boucher and Zherdev are FA's so that free's up some room and if they move Versteeg and replace him with cheap forward they can afford Bryzgalov

I think that Versteeg might stay, because if he isn't we need someone to replace him, and Bryz isn't going to fill that hole.

PHX GM Don Maloney has already gone on record saying the bar for a guy like Bryz has already been set with the contracts signed by Niklas Backstrom, Ryan Miller and Henrik Lundqvist. That means $6M - $7M a year. Might take a bit less to stay in PHX if the Coyotes stay, but if they move to Winnipeg I have no doubt he'll hit the open market.

...Maloney sees plenty of comparable contracts the Coyotes and Bryzgalov can use as a starting point in talks, including long-term deals for Ryan Miller, Henrik Lundqvist and Niklas Backstrom.

"The market is fairly well-established for a guy like Bryz," Maloney said. "It’s sort of right there."

The Prospective owner has gone on record saying if/when the sale is finalized, he will not be afraid to spend money to ice a contender. He wants to WIN. Wanting to win mean not letting your starting goaltender go. It's the 1st smart business decision he will make.

Sorry, no link to his statement.

Keep in mind Bryz already makes 4.5mil this season, and he'll likely be after a raise. He'll probably want something like 5.5mil 4 yrs.

it's called open negotiation, he wants a price he can go shopping with

I'm sure with his numbers and durability he'll get a sizable contract, I'm thinking someone will throw 5-5.5m at him

Bryzgalov as stated several times over that he wants to stay in Phoenix and the only way he hits FA is if we do relocate before he signs. (Hope we don't though we don't have alot of fans right now we are a great team and if we keep on winning we could draw in lots of people)
