I'm not sure but if it costs a year of his ELC I don't see it happening.

I think as long as it is less than 10 games, it won't cost a year of his ELC. That's just what teams are doing early in the season, Nino got 9 games for Islanders before being sent down.

I think we talked about this before, and i think we figured he'd only be able to play in the AHL. Unless i'm confused, which is very possible.

Yeah, but I was just saying that if he is allowed, it won't use a year of his ELC.

Nice article on Gudbranson facing his biggest challenge of the season as his Frontenacs are trailing the series 3-0...

Gudbranson refuses to wave the white flag

Pretty good read, I love Erik's attitude, his leadership abilities and determination ! This kid is really impact, he reminds me of Toews in the way he handles himself... Very very very mature kid IMO

Bjugstad is ranked #46 and Shore is #44 in HF's spring top 50 prospects.

So we'll have 4 prospects in the top 50 again.

remember shore was playing his second year this year, and he improved a lot. if bjugstad improves as much as shore did for next year, im sure he will be among the top 30 rather than 50

Howden is the only possible one that could squeak in. But I kinda doubt it right now. I think we just end up with 4 but I'm sure Markstrom will drop a bit from the previous ranking when he was #2. Of course Gudbranson should be higher now than his previous #13 ranking.

Lest we forget that Shore at one point this yr was among the top 5 scorers in the NCAA (finished top 20)? He led Denver in pts as just a sophomore and was also at the WJC for Team USA too.

Bjugstad may have had a decent season but he needs to show more to be ranked higher than Shore....right now. Long term, yes Bjugstad should end up being higher than Shore but we'll have to wait and see if he can improve on this season first.

Howden named the 4th best winger in the WHL:

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...ingers_in_whl/

Very impressive for the kid. I won't lie...I hated the pick when we first made it as he wasn't touted to be a major force on offense and we desperately need offense. However 40 goals and 79 nine points later, I will gladly have my crow and eat it too. GO HOWDEN

Well based on that logic and Etem was #32 in the latest HF prospect rankings, you gotta assume that Howden is higher since Etem was #8 on that winger list for the WHL right? Guess that means we do have 5 prospects in the top 50!

really???

If I were to rank the three 1st round picks, Howden would be 1st, Gudbranson would be 2nd and Bjugstad would be 3rd. I personally think Bjugstad was the biggest mistake Tallon made in the draft. I like to dub him as Chris Gratton 2.0 I hope I'm wrong but he really didn't impress me at all during juniors. Yea it's one tournament, I get that. He's still very young so I just hope he matures and becomes a great playre for us. If not, I won't say I told you so hehe

Gudbranson's season and probably career in the OHL is over after a 6-2 beating. Gudbranson was a +1 and got a 10 minutes misconduct at the end.

although the season ain't even over yet, I can't wait for next season to start and see our prospects getting some NHL time.

Especially Gudbranson looks like a stud.

I'm excited already! bring on the panthers 2011/2012!

We will have the best overall prospect pool if we get couturier/top 3 forward. Couturier, Gudbranson, Markstrom

Markstrom has done nothing to prove he's a top prospect. He was dreadful this season.

I'm excited too. I hope Howden and Gudy make the team next year. This team will finally have a player that the other team will be scared of. Gudbranson is tough and sticks up for his teammates. It's a good thing because other than Hordy, no one else sticks up for anyone on this soft team.

He was bad in his first few months. Once he got used to the North American ice and speed, he dominated the AHL in his last two months. He's definitely still a bluechip prospect and will once again be in HF's top 10.
