2010-2011 Florida Panthers Prospect Thread

Just to get all our prospect info into one common thread(see the Boyd/Petrovic threads), just so it's easier to follow. I expect MR (and others who view our prospects) to be hitting this thread up and giving details/information/updates.

Check out this article on 2010 draftee Zach Hyman.

"He looks forward to playing some day at the Panthers Bank Atlantic Centre Arena in Sunrise, FLA, and to being in a substantial south Florida Jewish-populated area."
I wonder if he actually said that.

USA world junior intersquad match today... Drew Shore injured his shoulder and is out for rest of camp and Nick Bjugstad was a stud, had a hat trick!

http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Us...1_06&ID=290290

Bjugstad is leading in camp scrimmages with 4 goals and 1 assist in 3 games.

Suweeet Bjugstad. Sucks for Shore, hopefully he doesn't miss any games for Denver.

Right on. Hopefully he can lock up a top-6 spot on the WJC team with Schroeder, Kristo and Stepan not returning.

Connor Bricks is competing for a spot there too.

Good blog for following the USA WJC Summer Camp:

http://usahockey2.com/usah_blogs/world_juniors_blog/

Shore was cut but Bjugstad and Brickley remain. They scrimmage with Sweden and Finland over the course of the next 4 days.

Here is another article featuring Bjugstad, "Nick is a stud!" says goalie Jack Campbell.

So, USA vs Finland right now at the under-20 hockey camp in Lake Placid. Bjugstad(#15) has two goals and Donskoi(#27) has one assist after two periods. Brickley(#16) has no points yet...

Bjugstad is a beast! I wish there was a video recap of the game.

Unfortunately, that's like being excited for Christmas 4-5 years from now...

I know, I wanted to watch the live feed but you have to pay, and I'm a cheap-a**.

If he's playing like this, and continues it through his season and WJC, I could see him up in a couple years...

Also, Gudbranson and Howden on the roster at Team Canada's camp which started today. Could we see a Guds vs Bjugstad matchup at the WJC? That would be awesome. It's really nice to see so many cats prospects involved in this years WJC so far!

Here is a local New Brunswick article about Guds and others arriving for camp: (and damn he is built like a brick sh**-house!)

Yeah he's huge and is only gonna get bigger.

I haven't been this excited about the Panthers future in a long time.

Yeah, i was mainly saying 4 years, cause first off, he's 17. So i figure a couple years in college, then maybe an AHL season or two, etc..

Secondly, i heard some people considering him more of a project (which makes sense since the kid is 17). But i'm the first to admit that my hockey knowledge doesn't go very deep when it comes to guys under 21. I generally don't follow prospects before the panthers draft them. But yeah, it's something i'm still working on learning.

Anyways, i hope the kid is able to be here at 19. That'd be great.

Same here. They wanted $6.99 for one game, that's ridiculous. I'll probably cave in over the next couple days though.

Yeah, i wish they'd put this stuff on the NHL Network. You know, instead of forcing us to watch Off the Ice with Jay Bouwmeester. God, i almost forgot how horrible it is to watch him mumble out some useless words while contorting his face more than a baby filling its diaper.

EDIT: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl also has a short vid on the Canadian WJC prospects, and Gudbranson has a short interview there. Again, so nice to have a guy who can speak in an above average manner.

I think I'll wait till the championship games so let us know how the guys look if you spend the big money.
