VandeVelde is only 1 word, but I don't think he'll mind if his jersey says Vande Velde on the back, as long as it's got the Oiler logo on the front. Good for him to get his first call to the show. I guess this means Horcoff won't be playing tonight afterall.
I'm happy for the young guys getting the call, but a little scared to think about what the lineup might look like with all 3 in it.
Paajarvi - Cogliano - Eberle
Jones - O'Marra - Omark
Giroux - Fraser - Reddox
Jacques - VandeVelde - MacIntyre
Ouch! That is a pathetic looking lineup. If that lineup can't lose and stay behind Colorado then nothing can.
Why, what's Fraser done to deserve to move up in the line-up? Atleast you can see what VV can bring, there's no mystery to Fraser.
?? You're calling up a 4th line rookie....I have my doubts he'll play in front of our 2nd best faceoff man with years of NHL experience. That may change if he's here for more than a game or 2 but for now....Don't want to argue, just saying what I think will happen..

I have seen his name spelled as one word and as two. Ever since he turned pro, I have seen the latter more than the former.
Jacques is out, too. Hartikainen will take his spot.
Holy crap! I gotta watch this game tonight! What a line-up! I can't even imagine what that's gonna look like on the ice. Gonna be some goods lulz tonight, fer sure. If the Yotes can't win this game then they don't deserve to make the playoffs, simple as that.
Also, IIRC Vandevelde had a very strong camp and preseason, but then after being demoted did not play well at all. Has he picked up his game recently?
I can't see Eberle being anything but 1st line with this many call-ups, so Omark and Eberle might be interchangeable.
And yeah, line up looks ugly, but with this much youth there is gonna be a HUGE amount of enthusiasm with these kids. I expect this will be a highly entertaining game overall.
Can't bet on a win for the Oil but can't have everything in life lol!

Well my thought isn't so much "which line" because lets face it, most of these lines barely qualify as 3rd or 4th lines on most NHL teams, but it's more chemistry. Omark's been playing well and has had Chemistry with Paajarvi and it makes the most sense to have the most experienced center between them, but default, basically, that's Cogliano. And then Grioux and Eberle are offensive players, and O'Marra has speed and size.
I wonder if the team would have met the qualifications as a valid team during a preseason game?
