Dinos add Teigan Zahn and Randy McKnaught. Apparently Reid Jorgenson has decided to come back for his last year of eligibility as well.

Goalie Andrew Perugini will replace Rolheiser in the crease who chose not to return to York.

Some more on the Mignardi situation. The OHL has him slated for SMU.

Also have Nathan Moon at UPEI.

http://www.bayshorebroadcasting.ca/n...p?NewsID=38767

Mignardi was or is one of the latest cuts at Kings camp. Sent to Manchester. http://www.monarchshockey.com/news.php?nid=4085

Unb

There is talk of UNB adding yet another defenseman, Chad Denny.
He was a 2'nd round pick, 49th overall of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2005.He played 4 seasons with Lewiston of the QMJHL.
Between 2007-8 and 2008-9, he played pro for Gwinnet of the ECHL and 51 games with Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
2010 saw him play 56 games with Gwinnet before finishing his pro career with Utah in2010-11 were he played only 5 games. Two years of CIS hockey left?
Denny is a 6'3" 227 lb product of the Eskasoni First Nation,N.S
He is a big body with a very heavy shot!
Any more word on Philip Varone out of Buffalo's camp? There was talk of UNB trying to land the former London Knight /Erie Otter who was a 5th round (147 overall pick of the sharks).
Has Mignardi been offered a pro contract?, or is it SMU or the Red Army?

Varone signed with the AHL Rochester Americans yesterday or the day before. http://www.amerks.com/newsX.asp?type=News&aID=334

Surprised if UNB has an opening for a defenceman this year. Well unless the injury bug keeps biting. Harty was back in tonight, but Wright and Kidd were out, meaning Corcoran played D instead of forward. But if another d-man falls into his lap, like Kidd did two years ago, I'm sure he won't throw him back.

Very, very impressive pickup. ECHL and AHL experience.

Guelph's Rest of Class

Guelph did not list Andrew Secco who was reported as going to Guelph. They also lost Thomas Kiriakou who signed with Las Vegas (ECHL) as reported earlier. Also of note, they do not list Tim Priamo, who along with Nathan Martine was a top defenceman in the OUA West. Priamo was known in the OHL as being a true student athlete and I believe he was an academic all Canadian, so I find it odd to see him not listed. Perhaps he did not leave the university, but is simply no longer playing hockey. Guelph will receive Cody St. Jacques back after leaving part way through last year to play an overage year with Brampton (OHL). Full recruits are (alot of names are wrong on the Guelph site):

Cam Odam D (Kingston OHL/Nepean CCHL)
Scott Collins D (Guelph Jr. B)
Ben Clarke F (Metro Halifax MHL)
Phillip Teri F (Woodstock MHL)
Marco Franchini F (Owen Sound OHL/Vaughan OJHL)
James MacIntyre F (PEI Rocket QMJHL)
Ben Holtom F (Plymouth OHL/Chatham Jr. B)

Priamo had completed the first 2 years of his program while playing in the OHL. He completed the last 2 years while playing CIS, has graduated.

Rumour's spreading that Nick Huard is returning to the Woodstock Slammers of the MHL. Nick commited to Nipissing, and his rights were traded to Prince George of the BCHL in the Summer. These are unconfirmed reports with no source attached to them...

UQTR adds Jonathan Parisien, who was playing with Halifax as an overarger.

At 6'2'', he's added to a defensive squad that added Gabriel Lemieux 6'1'' and Jean-Laurence Beauchemin 6'4''. UQTR will be pretty big at the blue line this year.

Michael Kirkpatrick, Kyle Bailey, and Alex Wall among the cuts from St. John's (Winnipeg's AHL team). Wall will be attending UPEI....let the speculation begin with regards to the other two.

This just made a very good team better. The core of the X-men is intact from the one that came within a wisker of going to the CIS championship last year.
They have had 2 wins over NCAA competition and the addition of Kirkpatrick will give them more scoring and skill up front, putting pressure on SMU and UNB.

I may be a little late on this one, so please forgive me.

Washington Capitals and former Boston University winger Andrew Glass is playing for Carleton this season.

If you all aren't familiar with what went down between BU and Glass, here's the quick skinny.

He was dismissed from the team about halfway through last season. And depending on which version of the story you buy into, Glass was either not abiding by the team's rules or was merely scapegoated by his now-former coach.

According to the Connecticut whale website, Carletons recruit Scott Tanski has signed an AHL with them.

Western Announces Roster

Western looks as good this year on paper as they ever have since I began following the OUA about 6 years ago.

They have 28 players, but the best on paper:

Forwards (CHL points):
Aaron Snow (68)
Kevin Baker (63)
Tyler Peters (61)
Zach Harnden (60)
Steve Reese (47)
Yashar Farmanara (46)
Keaton Turkiewicz (41)
Jeff Brown (40)
Julian Cimadamore (23)

Defence With Major Junior Experience
Paul Bezzo
Scott Aarssen
Geoff Killing
Andrew Eastman
Brandon Greenside
Matt Paltridge
Matt Ashman

Goalies:
Alain Valiquette
Josh Unice

Their forward depth is very strong. Their defence does not hold up to a UNB or Manitoba, and is the only area where I would say they are being held back from a national contending type of team. I strongly favour them to emerge from the OUA West this year.

Rob Mignardi

Anyone know where he is?
Last time I looked he was assigned to Manchester, but he didn't play last night and he is not on Stocktons roster. Maybe I'll see him at the forum tonight in a SMU sweater. Unless Gards can out-bid Stieny.
