From Wudrick's Twitter on November 23rd: "@Bshu42 after a few months of deliberation.. I've decided to take my talents to #FreddyBeach in 2012 and beyond #thedecision #NotLebron"

https://twitter.com/doublecorndogs/s...46672622608385

From Regan Bartel (Kelowna announcer), and re-tweeted by Wudrick - "Gardiner MacDougall, Head Coach UNB Varsity Reds Men's Hockey, confirms @Kelowna_Rockets alumnus Geordie Wudrick will join them after Xmas."

https://twitter.com/#!/Reganrant/sta...33480026198017

Here is the story (in German) from the Rosenheim Star Bulls website -

Thanks for the scoop SP.

Wudrick is officially announced in today's V-Reds e-newsletter:

The UNB Varsity Reds would like to announce the addition of forward Geordie Wudrick to the roster for the second half of the 2011-12 hockey season. Wudrick is a 5-year WHL veteran who played the first half of the season with the Rosenheim Star Bulls of the German Pro League.

Wudrick was a third round draft pick of the LA Kings and member of the Team Canada U18 squad in 2007. Last season, he scored 43 goals in 71 games with the WHL's Kelowna Rockets after seasons of 35 and 27 goals split between the Kelowna Rockets and Swift Current Broncos. He was originally drafted 2nd overall by Swift Current in the 2005 WHL Draft.

Nah, that's just for transfer students and guys deciding at the last minute to use their 5th year of eligibility.

So will he be able to play in the exhibition games over Christmas? Or does he have to wait until the new year? Or could he technically start playing ASAP?

I would guess that he can't play until he is in school. That means the start of the second semester.

This is a Huge addition to the VReds, a missing link in a way, yes we have a great team, with a ton of great players, great team players, great passers, great 2 way players, but what weve been missing so far this year is a bonified Sniper, A Finisher, A raw shooter, and thats exactly what Gordie is, and a massive body in front of the Net too, will be a great piece to the underacheiving power play.

I need to scramble to get out my pencil to figure out what the forward lines could possibly even be once Wudrick and Drummond join the Team.

Some of the Guys Met Gordie this summer and not only is he a great player, the guys got along with him great.

Just by looking at his junior stats it seems like a good pickup for Lakehead...20 goals/55 points in 2009-10 and 31 goals/72 points in 2010/11.

Interesting, as he committed to Calgary in the summer. He is definately a good recruit for Lakehead.

I know very little about CIS eligibility rules but I thought that a player transferring from NCAA had to sit for 1 full season. Moulson played his last game for Cornell on Feb.26, 2011. I need some clarifiction on this signing.

I believe it is 365 days/ 1 year from the last game played. The last game he played was Jan. 22nd, or at least on the box score.

http://cornellbigred.com/documents/2...19.pdf?id=3464

He would be ineligible to play until Jan 22, 2012.

Here is his game log.
http://ecachockey.com/men/2010-11/pl...x?view=gamelog

Drummer, can you confirm NCAA to CIS transfer regs?

My sources say he can play Jan 2. I see he is on the game sheet but also see they have 19 skaters listed. That could be a mistake. I will keep you in the loop.

From the CIS Athletes Guide:

Quote:
As a NCAA or NAIA student-athlete, how soon can I play after transferring to a CIS school?
assuming you have satisfied the other eligibility requirements, and you have not completed your NCAA or NAIA eligibility, one year must pass from your last participation in that sport.
So unless Moulson can prove he didn't play and was mistakenly added to that game sheet on Jan. 22 for Cornell (which could be the case) he wouldn't be eligible to play in the CIS until Jan. 22, 2012.

That is not really a game sheet; more like a stat sheet. If you look at our stats sometimes you will see guys who are not dressed or even don't exist. I'm sure he is legit and also sure that Acadia will confirm that.

This. We're still missing a goal on our last game. We won the game 4-2 on an empty net goal by Eric Faille, and it shows 3-2 in the AUS stats...

Yup, 76 pts in 2010-11, including 33 goals in 2010-11.

UPEI has added former Captain of the Peterbourough Petes Jack Walchessen to the line up for after Xmas. He had signed with Trenton of the ECHL early on in the fall but it looks like he never played a game.

He was the OHL's Humanitarian of the Year in 2010-11.

He was also rumoured as going to Ottawa in the summer but that was no longer the case come the beginning of the season.

Solid rumours say Ryerson University has received commitments from TJ Battani(ex st mikes major) and Victor Terreri( barrie colts) for 2nd Semester. This will help them out if true. Currently Rams are 7-7-2 in 8th place in oua east

Re: Calgary Additions

Mark Howell has clearly upgraded his forward unit.
After bringing aboard Taylor Stefishen and Dylan Hood in the fall the Dinos now get Kevin King and Spencer Edwards as mid-season additions.
Edwards scored 27 goals and had 66 points last season in a two-way role in Moose Jaw.
King scored 33 goals and had 76 points playing for former Alberta Golden Bear Kris Knoblauch with WHL Champion in Kootenay.
Combined with Stefishen (67 points last season in Prince George) Hood (83 points last season with Moose Jaw), Brock Nixon (two 30 goal, 70 point seasons in the WHL), Reid Jorgensen (39 goals and 68 points as a 20 year-old in Kamloops) and Walker Wintoneak (31 goals, 74 points with Saskatoon)...the Dinos are now a very deep offensive team.

Nice recruits. They would really make a difference in Lethbridge or Regina. (Even Manitoba!) It seems like they are recruiting what they already have. If they are not losing anybody and have no injuries then it may mean more press-box time for guys that got them to the nationals last year.
