I see your video and raise you:

This has nothing to do with Friday, but is on par with your video.

Updated the OP with the Coyotes' starting lineup. LaBarbera gets the nod in goal.

I'm guessing its at 0.5.

In 3 previous games this year Vancouver has had 0,1,and 2 powerplays in these games... Phoenix had 8 opportunities.

It seems the Coyotes have played many games without being called for many fouls.

...

I don't know ...but ... Yes a big hairy Butt... with all the owners having a direct financial stake in the real millions of dollars of losses of the Coyotes. It isn't a huge stretch to connect the dots to their on ice success in Phoenix to a smaller subsidy check from the other member clubs.
Coyotes fan (yes we exist) coming in peace! Last night we got called for 9 minor penalties and Bryz stopped a penalty shot...perhaps the conspiracy is to have a team other than the Oilers get the #1 overall pick?

Anyway, here's to hoping for a good game and no more injuries on either side!

Heh you probably won't have to worry about power plays tonight. The Canucks have been getting scant opportunities on the PP.

Good lord. Who wrote those lyrics? It's like an alien picked up broadcast waves of bad teen videos and cobbled this together as a best guess imitation.

Murph confirms Raymond as the 4th line C tonight with Lapierre moving to the 3rd and Higgins remaining on Kesler's wing. Sending a message to Raymond, it seems.

No question at this point...Lappy is another one of AV's 'project grinders'. Next Tanner Glass?

That he's never played centre before so it'd be a bit much to immediately ask him to anchor the third line?

I think Raymond is getting the Wellwood wake up call. Having Raymond screening will be the only way to get him in the slot. This floating around the perimeter business has to end.

Raymond is slowly but surely turning into Andrew Cogliano...

Agreed... Higgins has looked better and better each game. He's willing to take on guys one on one, goes to the net and plays in the dirty areas. I really liked him with Kesler last game and will be interested to see what they can do together tonight along with Samuelsson.

Raymond has all the tools... I think the Cogliano comparison is apt. Raymond is a bigger guy (I think) and I seriously wish the coaches would pull a Clockwork Orange on this guy and make him sit through a week of Glen Anderson footage. If he had 20% of Anderson's fearlessness we'd have a helluva player on our hands...

The Raymond comparison was more a joke, and to me, represents the worst case scenario with Raymond.

This playoffs could be huge for Raymond in terms of his status with the Canucks. If Higgins permanently takes his job on the second line, I could see him being re-upped and Raymond moved at the draft. Higgins is only 27 (Raymond 25) so it's not like he doesn't have a few good years ahead of him.

That being said, I'm rooting for Raymond to put it together in the playoffs. When he is playing well the Canucks are a much more dangerous team.

As for tonight's game, I have some painting to do tonight, so I might watch that dry instead of watching another Coyotes game.

Why not have Tambellini centre the 4th line -- or is Glass ready to draw back in? I'd read that the 4th was going to be Oreskovich, Tambellini, and Raymond. Playing Raymond at centre seems a curious choice.

Lappy was a 3rd line player for the Habs last season and played a very good role during their playoff run so it's not like he's that out of place on the third line.

If anything this gives AV a chance to see what he's got in heading into the playoffs just in case Malhotra is done for the year.

I'm hoping it prevents him from pulling out his assortment of 'money moves' along the sideboards. Stuck in the middle he can't race around the outside as much.

I think its a decent move...Raymond is fast and defensively responsible and it allows a guy like Higgins to work the boards down low. We have time to test a few things out before the playoffs start.

I hate to say it but this has los written all over it. Unless Luongo stands on his head I feel that this is a certain loss. Canucks are due for a loss to a playoff desperate team.

I wish not, but think this is a loss, say 4-2 for the Yotes. I hope I'm wrong.

Nothing against Glass, who's been great this season, but Lapierre has a lot more skill. He's far from a "project grinder," and if anything his role on the Canucks is below his capabilities. He's a former 2nd round pick who has played well in all situations before. As has already been pointed out, he was on the third line for the Habs last year when they took out the Capitals and the Penguins.

Desperate playoff teams seem to be the Canucks' specialty. The gain strength from feeding on their tears.
