I have to say I like the new concussion rule. Clifford was clearly hurt, he had a very poor grip on his opponent and suffered the consequences. You cannot grab the crest of the other guys jersey, that means both hands are free and they are coming for your face. It's shocking sometimes when you think about sports that just completely disregard head injuries. A guy like Austin Collie on the Colts would get knocked out cold, face down on the field and would be listed as probable the following week. Have you ever known anybody who suffers a severe concussion and is OK 7 days later?
Agreed. Clune is not an NHL player. He was terrible last season. Just because the Kings lost a good player with toughness doesn't mean they need to bring up an awful player who is tough.
Call up Moller to replace Clifford's roster spot. Insert Richardson into the lineup and then decide whether you need toughness or not when playing Westgarth or Smyth. Right now there isn't much of a difference between the two.
Penner - Kopitar - Williams
Brown - Stoll - Moller
Poni - Handzus - Simmonds
Richy - Lewis - Smyth or Westgarth
this guy could be brought up or that guy ,then see Montreal bring up six players and win. Dont worry theres several guys in Manch to fill spots to but we dont do anything.

for once
Holloway or Mollar, lets face it we could use the scoring touch.
Question: What that one of the more disappointing games in recent memory?
MURRAY: “You know what the most disappointing, frustrating thing was? At the end of the second period, we were booed off the ice by our fans. That is the most embarrassing thing I have ever been through. That’s the worst I’ve ever been through, in all the years I’ve been coaching. I’ve been behind the bench almost 3,000 hockey games in the NHL, and booed off the ice by your own fans at the end of the second period, here after this road trip, going 4-0 in hard places, very disappointing.”
Did Westgarth make a difference last night? Just asking, not trying to chirp.
I have to be careful because I don't want to get thrown off the board again.
The Blues dressed Crombeen, Reeves, Stewart and Janssen. The Kings had to match with Clifford and Westgarth.
Janssen likes to run around, he especially does it when teams don't dress there heavy. At least Westy smoked him and was in his face after every whistle.

so he "smoked" a guy about 4" shorter and about 30lbs lighter?
The Kings sucked last night. It had nothing to do with the fans. I don't necessarily agree with the boooing, but give me a break with the above post.

I give full credit to a fan who was still in the building at the start of the 3rd period.
You guys are putting words in my mouth. Where did I say it was the fans fault that they lost?
I said that if the fans had rallied behind the team instead of booing them when they were only down by two goals, that the team probably would have built off that energy and done something with it.
If the fans would have rallied behind the team at ANY point before the Blues scored their third goal, things would probably have gone differently.
You didn't watch the game, did you? Quick gave up 4 soft goals. I've never seen a goalie give up 4 soft goals in an NHL game and not get yanked. Quick is now 0-4 with a 3.53 GAA against the Blues this season so I put that on Terry Murray for not even paying attention to match ups. This was another game where the Kings seemed unprepared, unmotivated and were just completely flat. We've seen this a few times with the Kings. They seem out of it and the coach shows ZERO emotion behind the bench which results in a horrible game rather than a horrible period. King fans have nothing to do with results of a game played by professional athletes who get paid millions of dollars. Ridiculous argument.
I think Westgarth was actually 1 of the kings better players yesterday. I think he actually brings more to the table than Smyth at this point (in the sense of doing his job on the 4th line compared to Smyth not doing his on the 2nd)

Wow, wow, wow. Why not pump in crowd noise so the Kings can go 41-0 at home?
Westgarth did what he could as did Clifford. It wasn't the tough guys from the Blues that beat are guys down. The Kings looked stiffed-legged and bone tired the whole game.
They accomplished something no other King team has - four road game victories in a row and back-to-back 30+ win series for Quick. That's why I think the booing was classless and undeserved.
Games like this happen in the "new" NHL. You don't get the one or two day break you'd get in a playoff series after that four game sweep. Wasn't cool to boo them.

Westgarth looks like a speed skater compared to Smyth, I gotta give him props for that.

Ryan Smyth so far in March:8 games played, 0 goals, 2 assists, minus 8, 9 shots on goal.

a neutered 4th line most certainly doesn't bring more to the table than even the disaster that Smyth has been able to provide right now... and that problem was underscored yesterday as the Blues skated all over the Kings and one of the team's fastest high energy players was wearing a suit.
You show me where in this quote there is a 'slam' or 'attack'?

I see a observation, a comparison and a opinion.
Enlighten me please.
I'm not sure that the "very disappointing" is aimed at the fans. Given his earlier criticism of his team's performance ("six shots after two periods" etc), I think it's aimed at the team.

hooray for Westbarf!
Your right, he should have just let a player known to be a cheap shot artist go running our players. I am sure that some of us would be here today criticizing him for not fighting the guy.
I know I know its Westgarth's fault again but its really hard to sell that when KW went even on the night and played a whopping 7:42sec.
So he as an enforcer won his fight and was defencively responsible again while playing limited minutes as a rookie.
He didn't do anything spectacular and even made a couple of mistakes in my opinion but he wasn't any worse then several other players on our team. But hey, its fun to have at least one player to bang on about so dig in. I am doing the same thing regarding TM but to me I think the blame ways more on the coach then it does the team. Not saying I am any more right or wrong then anyone else by the way, just that is the way I see it.
Wow, wow, wow. Why not pump in crowd noise so the Kings can go 41-0 at home?
Just because I think the fans could have helped last night, doesn't mean that I think the team is any less responsible for sucking a fat one. You guys are misunderstanding me here.
